Wind is actually blowing right to left on the video. So I'm holding to the right (into the wind), and down (to correct for bullet spin).

He said a March 10-60x in one of his replies. In Canada that's a $4000 scope.
@becstadotcom
@becstadotcom Жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly. It's _still_ about that price here in Australia. There's no point having a $4000 rifle, and putting $100 glass on it, as you're not going to get the accuracy and repeatability from a $100 scope compared to a $4000 scope. That said, there are some _amazing_ cheap scopes from time to time (Weaver T36 comes to mind).

March 10-60x with spider crosshair. Even though it's max zoom is 60x, I normally shoot with the zoom around 50x. Dunno why... I used to shoot this rifle with a March 40x fixed scope, but swapped over to the 10-60x. The video was shot using my iPhone mounted on a March-supplied eyepiece adapter. The scope allows so much light through to my eye is such that I have to rest my eye sometimes to get rid of the "burn-in" ghost target images - especially an issue when I shoot against the ISSF 50m prone target rifle electronic targets. Thanks for watching!

No, just scope. You would not be able to see the target with aperture sights, otherwise. The rifle which shot that target was using a 10-60 power March scope.

I currently have a Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm same reticle as yours for F-TR in Canada shooting a 308 Win from 300m-1000m. Your March scope is so expensive! It'll stay on my wish list. Great shooting.

I am sorry but your video is not about 'tuning' your FWB but rather 'shooting' the FWB. 95% of the video is of you shooting - not demonstrating how you tune a rifle. The other 5% is setting up the front rest and rear bag. Click bait.

I’m shooting with a group tomorrow and I was told one of the guys pulled a Leupold 36 Benchrest from a CZ 457 and replaced it with an Arken EP5. For the different disciplines we shoot it was probably a good move but I have a RimX that should be finished next month, would that Leupold be a good fit for IBS 50yd shoots? Great video by the way, I picked up a lot from it, one of the things is you need a fine scope. Thanks

@@staffordshires2 No, no suppressor. Those are not obtainable in Australia, and even if they were, they're not allowed through the discipline's rulebook. My rifle actually has a bloop tube, which gives a resoundingly loud pop noise. The quietness is the camera mic (my iphone).

Yes, it was later plugged and confirmed to be a 10. For these targets, if the plug touches the 10-ring, it's a 10 (inward scoring method). Some targets (like the PSL in the US, or BR30) is outward scoring.

Hello, nice video I'm surprised to see that your crosshair doesn't move after the shot. Is the recoil blocked in the front rest?
@becstadotcom
@becstadotcom 9 жыл бұрын
jean lacrotte Thanks for watching it. No, the rifle isn't clamped in any way. I use a benchrest technique called "free recoil", which allows the rifle to recoil without any dampening. With 22LR, it will only recoil 5mm or so anyway. The trick to the recoil is to get the rifle to recoil straight back towards the shooter. So, the stock is made with the bottom of the foreend parallel with the bottom of the buttstock. With an angled buttstock, it's not possible to get this kind of recoil.
