When I was a young man, I read a book about a group of students that drove a Land Rover to Singapore (I think?) Was in the 50s? I've always wanted to do it! Well done you two!

The condescending hypocrisy of telling people they shouldn't sell their house and buy a van because it is a depreciating asset... whilst also being a parasitic landlord that fuels property inflation through self-interest and greed- very moral.

I agree with him. Every time I’ve traveled for extended periods, I’ve rented out my house to help with the cash flow while on the road. When I’ve come back, the house has gone up in value, but my rigs have depreciated. Only issue is trying to deal with tenants while at in the road.

@@davemangle6448think you missed the point. He’s telling poor people what they should/shouldn’t do whilst he exploits and profits from them. You’re a landlord too so of course you’re going to agree with him.

@@JohnDoeing123 I make no apologies for being a landlord. I failed at school, and got nothing from my family. I worked multiple jobs and renovated houses on the weekends for years. I made myself what I am today, as do many others. I’m reaping what I’ve sown.

@JohnDoeing123 I agree. These two are travelling around the world, only visiting the pathetic tourist spots and more big cities in the US than any actual overlanding. On the highways, they are cruising right past the best, most amazing locations, just to meet a schedule they created the night before. It's obvious that they kitted out their rig to "look" good but have zero clue that overlanding is absolutely not about park'n'pay tourist traps, but about taking the road, and trail, less travelled ... not to mention what you commented about. Pure self-inerest here. This is the first and last of their videos that I will watch.

When she says she needs to constantly watch electric and water and gas, you have ot do that wether you have a 3k build or a 300k build.same applies to being in a boat.

With the price of a rig like that you're not doing much of escaping any rat race and its a depreciating asset. Super cool rig though.

I really don't get why you chose such a small van, we have a Vivaro and that does 40mpg is easy to drive, easy to park and under 2 metes in height. You can pick one up for a couple of grand and convert for about £1000, why the punishment mate?...3 years!!!

Four and a half years ago, I left a beach house to move into my 2004 Toyota Highlander. It was the best thing I ever did and I've never been happier! I'm debt free and I can enjoy life because I can afford to. I don't have much but the few things I do own are the best that money can buy. I travel at will and spend my time with my family and dear friends. I never dreamed that I could be so happy living in such a little Home! If you're thinking about changing your life by living in a vehicle, Do It! You'll thank yourself later!

So I'm sitting on my single bed in my self converted builder's van doing vanlife while watching videos of other people doing vanlife! 😂 I love your videos. This lifestyle is something that was on the cards for years as I prefer to work for agencies and I can work when I want, where I want, and just tick on by without a care in the world 😂. Keep making the videos, you're doing a great job. ✌️

I live fulltime offgrid in my van too. 1 thing I would say is when you mentioned your rear door lock.it scared the hell out of me. If for any reason you have a fire in the front and your in the back, how the hell do you get out? I have a cut out in my bed base directly above the internal rear door handle, so at any time I can just reach down and open the back door and escape. The thought of sitting there trapped and burning g alive terrifies me.

I've got a standard camper, not a stealth one. Im Completely happy with every aspect of living in a van. These so called hardships aren't hardships if you're prepared, organised and patient. My main concern is parking up. Any suggestions? I prefer being out the way, far way from people, so definitely no suburbs, towns or supermarket carparks.
