Ele foi mais elegante jogador de futebol do século X X. Seu corpo, suas pernas e seu braços de moviam em pefeita harmonia, tudo bem coordenado como acontece com os instrumentos em uma sinfonia. Zidane tinha técnica igual ou até melhor e controle de bola em qualquer velocidade, assim como Ronaldo fenômeno, mas na elegância dos movimentos corporais ninguém bate Baggio.

At any speed, Baggio was still better. Zidane is called the most elegant player, but as you said Baggio was fluid from the upper body amd lower body. Zizou was kind of upright, but he was light on his feet.

Baggio per me è stato unico ! Un giocatore davvero unico per la sua eleganza , la sua visione di gioco , l'intelligenza, il tiro , il dribbling, il passaggio filtrante, i gol ( mai banali) su punizione , al volo, dalla bandierina del calcio d'angolo e infine il sacrificio per il raggiungimento di un un'obiettivo che spostava sempre più avanti ... un giocatore che ha giocato infortunato per tutta la carriera e ha fatto sognare milioni di persone di ogni nazionalità .grazie Roby

I had the privilege to watch this guy play for Brescia at the end of his career. He would run less than 2k per game but man, could he touch that ball. He scored many fine goals and delivered as many assists to his teammates. There is one goal that stuck with me, against Parma in his last season (200th Serie A goal). Receives the ball just outside of the box, sits down three defenders fainting a move, and puts the ball at the back of the net with his left foot. As cliche as it sounds, football just doesn’t produce this kind of genius anymore.

Defenders are smarter nowadays ie they do not commit to sliding as easily and you can hardly lure them to one direction to change to another anymore. So while Baggio was extremely gifted, it is unfair to make comparisons across different eras.

@bradyklein1892 maybe you are right to a degree but for me Defense in the 80s and 90s Calcio with minimum referee protection is always harder than every other era in my opinion. I’m from that era, You could lose a leg forever. Ask Marco van basten. I remember pep guardiola couple years ago stated that Baggio could score 50 goals in his Manchester city team. Pep played in the 90s.

@@alqasem5691 Yup they were brutal and very aggressive hard tacklings in the past but that does not equate to intelligent defending. In the 90s, when Ryan Giggs shifted the ball to one side, the defender would follow him all the way to that side in the most naive manner only for Giggs to accelerate in the opposite direction and far away. In today's modern football defence, when you sprint in one direction, the defender will shadow you from the side while his mates from nearby defence zones will close down your remaining options to switch directions, so you have no choice but to keep running straight until you run out of room and they do not even have to tackle you for that.

Made it look so easy against some of the best defenders in the world...unbelievable control at a high pace but also using his body so well to fake them out.
