Hi Rob & Gail, lovely looking site, many of the Haven sites are doing away with touring sites which is a real shame. Plenty to see and do on these complexes. Looked a bit windy on arrival, did you get a wobble on? We had to slow right down recently when we got caught in the wind. Another great vlog. ATB, Helen & Dave

Hi there Dave & Helen, We’ve just had a look and only 17 of Haven’s 40 sites offer touring and camping. The money is in the statics and we saw this last month at Bosworth Lakes. Like you say it’s a shame Dave. Our journey was rather breezy and I too eased off the pedal from the metal 😁. Gail doesn’t like towing when it’s windy. Disappointing early June weather but at least we didn’t get rained off and we had a really good holiday. Best wishes to you both, Rob & Gail 😀

Those geese left the pond like synchronised aircraft squadrons! Looks like a nice site! Can't believe you left your steps at home, you're always so organised! We carry one of those folding steps on the van, does in a pinch and also handy for reaching the top of the cabinets.

Hi Lily & Bruce, This is one our favourite sites and areas to explore. It was marvelous watching the geese. Gail was grateful she didn’t get pooped on 😂 . We left our original step behind at Meathop Fell club site after leaving in the dark. I couldn’t believe I left it at home this trip. I did mention changing the step but Gail’s happy with this one. Great vlog, thanks for showing us your stay at a Haven Site. Something we have considered during term time but not been brave enough! We stayed in Cleethorpes last year on the Showground campsite near the train station however you look like you had much more space than we did on your pitch. Might give this a go once the school holidays are over. Safe travels Melanie and Adrian

Hello Melanie and Adrian, Hope you’re both well. It’s almost a year since we both met at Cayton Village CAMC. We walked past the Showground caravan site a few times and it looks a peaceful site. Nice video. We stayed here last year, we were on a pitch just outside the toilet block on your video it has a camper van on it (68). Everything got covered in tree sap, meaning everything needed a good wash when we got home including the awning and caravan roof, that was fun! All we heard whilst away was the men’s toilet door banging as people entered and left. The chemical emptying point was also the most disgusting thing I had ever seen or used. Also we found like you, people would walk through the pitch. Saying that we did book a return trip for this year and were due to go week after next, but we have since cancelled it for one reason or another.

@robswiseways5697 3 күн бұрын
Hello there, interesting to read someone else’s thoughts about the site. We had a look back at our video and saw where you were pitched. Maybe the annoying toilet door has been fixed now as we never heard anything. My car was covered in sap too and it did take some washing off. We do like a leafy site though so I suppose it’s to be expected. The toilet emptying point wasn’t too bad actually but a good clean wouldn’t have hurt. The site definitely needs a few signs up asking folk to respect other people’s pitch space. Hope you manage to return at some point 👍. We would definitely return during quiet times. Thanks for watching and commenting. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀

@@robswiseways5697 sounds like they might have improved things since we were there then. We did complain about the toilet door and the next day it had been propped open. The sap was awful for us, everything needed a really good clean. Yes I think signs asking people to respect peoples pitches wouldn’t hurt however I don’t think anyone would take any notice. It’s a shame we aren’t going back as I liked the little railway and thought the world’s smallest pub was really quaint! With my son starting school this year there is no way we will be able to go back during quieter times and no way am I going there during school holidays. So will have to find a cl or similar near cleethorpes. Look forward to your next video!! Stuart.

Hi Rob & Gail, Went to Cleethorpes last year when staying on Caister Lakes site, it's certainly a lot better than our last visit many years ago, The site looks nice & good price, we have only done one Haven site back in 2015 (Blue Dolphin) - worst stay we have ever had, kids screaming and running round, adults shouting ETc after midnight, so vowed never to go on a Haven site ever again, you may have just changed our mind 😊

Hi John, we had this site on our to do list for a couple of years and we’re glad we did it this year ! We had no idea the touring section was going. Unfortunately not able to input dimensions into the sat nav. In settings I have ‘fastest’, ‘shortest’ or ‘econ’. I have it set to econ and this chooses main routes but there has been the very rare occasion when it wanted to take me along a narrow road. I ignored the instruction and carried on driving so it recalculated and put me back on track. I always check routes on Google satellite and street view beforehand though. I did have the sat nav updated in 2023 but bear in mind my car is a 2011 model. Overall I am really pleased with the system. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. Rob & Gail 😀

Hi Rob & Gail! I love that you have "Caravan Tea" (cold meat, pickles, cheese) and "Caravan Toast"... but what is Caravan Toast? Really enjoying watching your videos, you do some amazing walks, I must ask Gail what walking boots she recommends. Lily & Bruce (Motorhomers!)

Hi there Lily & Bruce, Thank you for your kind support. We love everything about caravaning including eating in, especially if we have a good view. I always enjoy toast done under the grill in the caravan, hence I call it ‘caravan toast’ 😁. Gail has Brasher walking boots. She says they are super comfy so can highly recommend them. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀

Was going to say you looked like a kid in a candy store in the cheese shop! I'd be the same! 😅

Haha, you don’t see a specialty cheese shop very often so this was an opportunity to indulge 😂. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀

Great info as usual. How many times do you go away in a year usually?

Dishwasher tablets! What a good idea! Are you and Gail retired now Rob or still working?

Still working and Gail part time plus looking after her mother. Yes the dishwasher tablets do work and traveling home with the solution in the cassette helps too. Cheers Rob 👍

Hi Rob, been watching a few of your videos over last few days and enjoy your indepth descriptions and "how to" ideas. However, this video made me subscribe because it's the first site tour I've ever watched that gave the view from different pitches, which is something I always want to know! Thanks for your diligence 😊

Good to hear you are enjoying our videos and thank you very much for subscribing 👍. Site tours are easier to film in more detail when not too busy, but we always show the view from our pitch. Cheers and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀

In the screw top / cap on the pipe of the cassette, there is a measuring guide with the 3 different levels for the chemical

Thank you for your comment 👍. I use the graduations on the side of the bottle simply to keep the cap clean. By the way, in our Waleswood caravan and camping park video I show my new way of keeping the cassette clean. Cheers, Rob 🙂

Hey Colin, feel free to watch our back catalogue of site tours 😂 and don’t forget to buy a sand castle flag next time you’re at the seaside for your site map pointer 🤣 . Cheers, Rob & Gail
