Awesome videos by an old school electrician when they had pride in there skills. Thanks Bill. Bending conduit is an art in my opinion.

Helpful, but didn't tell me how to separate ground and neutrals. I am a student, so that would be helpful. A lot of other good information though, so I subscribed.

Whatever your measurement is just use a longer piece of emt than needed , make your bends then hold the conduit up where the 3 point offset is needed and make your mark at the coupling where you need to cut the conduit . This is way easier and faster than trying to find out how many 1/16 of an inch you need to add.

I don't agree. While I think a cord connected disposal is best I see no reason NM can not be used. It has been used for disposals forever. NM is exposed in all basements and garages so it does not have to be behind sheet rock. It is also commonly used to feed electric hot water heaters for years without an issue

Hi bill, trying to buy a basic/not too expensive multimeter that i can use for working in my cars and home. Mostly, I will be doing load test and continuity. What do you recommend?
@l84cabo2 күн бұрын
I'm confused. At the point you attach the bare copper grounding wire to the ground screw of the GFCI, isn't the outlet grounded at that point? And doesn't the self grounding clip become redundant? Shouldn't it be one or the other and not both?
@l84cabo2 күн бұрын
What if the metal box is grounded via metal conduit...so the metal conduit connects back to the panel that is grounded (at least I assume that's how that works). But is that essentially the same and you can then ground to the metal box if need be?

I may have previously commented on this video; it doesn't matter. Thank you for not only showing how to fix this specific faucet, but more importantly the process of _how_ to go through this type of repair in general. The details you show, keeping track of the parts during disassembly, the caution to not lose parts or damage things help to make it easier to reassemble it and know where the new parts go and fit together. You're not just demonstrating doing it, you're explaining the how and why behind it. Add in the recommendations for tools and using them properly, and the lesson is complete! Well done!

People have been debating this for over 20 years and the people who write the books should clear this up based off mechanical science. Not there opinion.

In most cases, replacing the cartridge isn’t necessary, if the faucet is dripping, simply replace the washers inside the cartridge for a few bucks. An original Delta cartridge costs anywhere from about $45-$65, the washers cost $4.50. !

Im looking for ground bar for old outdated Crouse-Hinds panel. Im aware that Murray bought Crouse-hinds and then Siemens bought Murray so I would think Siemens is my way to go. I just dont think they left the little dimples like todays panels so is tap and thread or own our only options? Is this code/manufacturer compliant?

I just used 5 different bits on a 4 foot diameter partial rotten partially solid very wet stump that ive attempted to burn as its too large for my equipment to dig and pull out. My conclusion was the Two Fluke 3/4" Auger bit is the best option with a decent drill. 3/4" Hole - One fluke - Auger bit - 17 1/2" full length flute - worked but took more physical effort then the 2 fluke . not great for wet material 3/4" Hole -Two Fluke - Auger bit - 17 1/2" full length flute - Best overall (reasonable to sharpen with grinder) speed was decent and had to clear hole usually at 14" deep(i normally did it every 3 ish inches) but could get away with less with dryer spots in the stump 3/4" Hole - Three Fluke - Auger bit -17 1/2" 1/3 length flute (very agressive bit) - fastest/but gets stuck - but with the wet stump it immediately got stuck as the wet material expanded after passing through it. required the other bits to drill all around it to free it as it couldnt be pulled out. - not recommended for wet material and make sure you pull it out ofter to clear waste 1/2" Hole Standard bit with 17" welded extension. - about the same speed as the 3/4" one fluke auger bit but the hole is smaller and requires alot of pulling out to free the waste. I let my kid try it out and he immediately angled it and broke the bit off in the stump. Good lesson learned for both of us for a variety of reasons. 3/4" Paddle(spade) bit with extension makes it 24" long - worked but dulled quickly took alot of effort and vibration. Last resort. For this test I used both Battery(8 and 5AH batteries) and corded 9amp drill. Both were able to perform with all the bits. The main difference is the 9amp stayed cooler after hours of drilling compared to the battery drill. Both were able to work without bogging down.

The frustrating part here is when the municipal inspector comes for Final, plugs his tester in, and finds that it won’t trip. Now you have to an insolent inspector who doesn’t appreciate this problem and is not willing to accept that the manufacturer has built-in protection inside their device. Instead, the smug inspector will tell you to run an equipment ground into the device so that his handy little tester will trip the circuit when he presses his little red power button. In the case of many municipal inspectors keen on power trips, ignorance is bliss.

Thank you for this video. This was extremely helpful to determine which drill to get. I actually had a hammer drill -SDS pro from Harbor Freight. I thought it just used 6" long bits and I need a SDS Max to get a bit longer than 12" to add extra rebar in a failing small retaining wall . Harbor Freight actually had a $20 box set of SDS Pro 14" bits from 1/4 to 5/8" . This video saved me a bunch of money. The SDS Max set-up is super nice for a contractor, but I could not justify the expense for the limited work.
