Convinces me why the mechanic is going to charge whatever they are going to charge. 😅 But there is no excuse for the dealer charging $50 to replace a cabin air filter on my Prius that took me five minutes.

Very helpful, rare video with no fluff, just useful info. Also I liked how you showed the little tabs and bits that can get broken or make disassembly difficult, many thanks!

Thank you Soo much for this. I just replaced the whole latch mechanism and actuator because it was all that O'Reilly's had available on my 2005 Tundra SR5 and this helped Soo much. I will say that the new part came with the actuator wired backwards and the door lock was operating backwards from the other 3 doors. I had to take it all back out and swap the old actuator into the new mechanism. But after that, everything is perfect!

I am having the same issue with my 05 Tundra Access Cab. How did you determine it was the actuator or the mechanism itself? Trying to save money and by something I don’t need
@wildwoodwood91532 ай бұрын
It’s the mechanism, if the door is shutting, but then bouncing back and not quite latching. What I was also having a problem with is when I was hitting the unlock button on the remote, it was not quite unblocking the door enough to open. That’s when you would make sure you actually change the actuator too.
@phillmccracken71552 ай бұрын
@@wildwoodwood9153 My drivers door is closed and will not open either from the inside handle or outside handle. I can unlock and lock it manually or the remote but the handles do nothing to open the door

What is the screw size to connect the door lock actuator back to the latch assembly? I seem to have lost the screws
@EverymanGear4 ай бұрын
Oh man. Bummer. I would not be able to tell you that unless I had the thing currently taken apart.
@zfrocc63274 ай бұрын
@@EverymanGear I was able to find those screws. But I have another question. I put the assembly together, but the front door will not latch 100% no matter how hard I close it. What should I do?

I was just lent one of these and it won't do anything unless it is plugged in.. so not as useful. I had it charging for about 40 minutes before it said full charged.. but still no power once I unplug. Is this a normal problem or do we assume it was abused? I came on here to see how to have it turned on but I'm thinking it is broken.

It seems to be a common problem on Toyota's. Mine started acting up now it won't release st all. I have a 2002 Tundra SR5 Access cab and it's gonna cost to have it repaired. This should be a dealer recall to have them replaced.

I daily carried my Wave in this sheath for a year or so and I loved everything about it except one major issue. I don’t tuck in my shirts so I had small holes on the left hip of most of my shirts from rubbing/pinching against the metal carrier.

Got one as a present at Christmas 1998 from my employer, a baker. Used is ever since. To remove the plastic part.. open and keep going, it will push itself out of the frame. To place it.. keep one pin of the plast prt in place and slide the other from the inside in place. Easy does it.😉

I wish there were more people like you out there willing to help others in need because no matter who you are, sometimes everyone needs a helping hand now and then. I appreciate you taking the time to make the video. It helped me make an informed decision buying a jumpstart/charging unit for my fiancés car. Just as you mentioned in the video you don’t want a loved one being alone in an stressful environment, likely already anxious and then having to ask a stranger for a jump start on top of that Is not at all what I want her to have to do.

Great music at beginning:) Yep... I had to fix a squeaky nut on the window rail assembly and a loose speaker. However I didn't mess with the power window and lock attachment when taking off the door. Just got everything released and then reached around to remove. 2006 Double cab Tundra. Broke several trim clips and plastic covers so had to order more. By the way, I take pictures of every screw cause I always forget which one goes where.

@EverymanGear Жыл бұрын
My guess is that the plastic pull handle mechanism broke. If that’s all it is, you’ll be lucky because that’s the cheapest fix and all you’ll have to do is pull the panel off and replace it. Watch the video below at around 6:06 to see what I’m talking about. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ndR1hMJ-37HIe2Q.html
