Fantastic documentary. We rode the steam train a few years back and we want so much to get back up there one day sooner than later.

It is my hope someday Wisconsin Great Northern can reinstall removed track from Trego northward and/or Spooner to Rice Lake, but I am sure the chance of that happening is next to none.

Nice video. I'm getting the impression that the loco is oil fired, not by coal. One veteran railroad talked about converting to oil. I said: Fine, if it still smells coal....
@chendersonrailproductions7046 ай бұрын
That engine (734) is a coal burning engine.

@@chendersonrailproductions704 Thanks for telling! I'm used to narrow gauge steam engines, once being the fire man, and they don't produce that massive black smoke. I guess a lot more shovels have to be used here.

Hey how are you doing? Congrats on 30 years on this program. I was on this line a couple years ago. I got to hear about this railway not only through this program but also my All Aboard VHS. I had a great time plus all of the folks were very cool and telling my family about the history of the railway. I love trains keep up the great work.

Something I realized after all this time playing TSW is that UK Steam Locomotives are extremely simple to control in comparison to North American steam. The Scottsman[RiP Allen Peglar] has a reverser that you turn right or left. It has one throttle/regulator that you don’t have to pump over and over again(You just pull to open, push to close). Even the brakes are simple. One locomotive brake, and no stupid extra steam brake separate from the main air brakes(just a combination brake system). LNER had the right idea when ordering the A class locomotives. They valued Simplicity more than any other railway. It’s funny how EMD makes the Class 66, which was an extremely simple design with only a handful of steps needed to get it moving, but the SD40-2 requires you to jump through hurdles just to get it started. A century and a half of making our own locomotives, and we are still making them as difficult to operate as a Helicopter.

There are a number of "heritage" railways in Britain, preserved and operated by regular people working together. It's nice to see Americans can do it, too, rather than waiting for "the rich guy" to take care of stuff.
