I play guitar for over 20 years, however, I learned by myself mainly to play Christian songs I like. I never had the intention to play in public, to be a professional, to play in a band, to be in a music ministry or so. Eventually, I begin playing in Church, study the theory (all by myself), but because I learned alone, I lack proper technique, always struggled with rhythm, tempo, and find it hard to play with other musicians. Your videos are helping me to finally fill the gap and pick up the little things I left behind in my guitar journey... Thank you so much!

First of all, thanks you it does help a bit for what I need to know so far. But to be fair to everyone any instrument should be like a drug, that you are addicted too, it will swallow a lot of time and money and it’s a endless never ending story 😂 so if you wanna start, you should love the pain what will be ahead of you 💪

That's interesting how you said that at level 4 is where an instructor can come in and be beneficial. That's true now, but years ago, there wasn't any internet. Young players are so lucky to have all these killer resources available. Personally, I struggled with technique and developing bad habits early without an instructor. Even still, some techniques are difficult to grasp even if you have an instructor, so getting the right instructor is even more important. I tried learning vibrato technique on my own and I still haven't figured it out well enough to be say I can do it well. That one skill is super important in my opinion and it's easy to get wrong or simply remain mystified about it. Then you could be using a terribly setup guitar and be subconsciously miserable every time you practice because you know something just isn't right with your equipment. I feel like every guitarist at level 4 should be able to setup their own guitar and know how to do it well. I would say a good goal at level 4 and even above is to focus on being a super solid rhythm guitar player and create your own backing tracks. When you can nail down good rhythm guitar, you are well on your way to being a valuable resource for any band or jam session you come across. I play drums as well so that makes things really interesting in terms of creating my own tracks. I just need to learn bass to go the final mile but there are ways to get around that. Recording yourself playing full tracks that don't stop until they are finished. That's the best way to judge your own skills.

Hey guys. This is a solid lesson plan and you can do all this without a teacher. If you follow these steps and practice daily you'll be able to play the guitar fairly well in less than 2 years. You will have all the physical parts on playing under control. Just be sure to make time to play for fun after practice, play along with your favorite albums, and learn some melodies etc.

The hardest part for me is keeping strumming pattern going while I don't hit the strings. It feels impossible. Can you get away with not doing it this way or is this the defacto skill I need to learn?

@kevinnickens I am writing an ebook guide for people who want to learn how to play the guitar and I am including your lessons in it, putting them in the right order, so they can learn them step by step at their own pace. I have copied and pasted the links to your KZfaq videos so my future readers will be routed to your tutorials. I find your channel very educational, fun, and beginner-friendly. All your lessons are well-explained and organized. P.S. I am an average guitarist. Started learning when I was 14 years old, currently I am 27. I admit I still have so much to learn. I'm also a writer-wannabe that is why I'm writing this ebook guide about guitar for beginners.

Jesus died on the cross for your sins he became sin so you would be forgiven!! We have all sinned but it we repent of our sins and ask Jesus who is the son of God into our hearts your forgiven. He actually says he throws away your sins into a sea of forgetfulness isnt that amazing!! He is returning soon and he wants to take you with him but most of all he wants to have a relationship with you so just say this Jesus i am a sinner wash me in your blood forgive me of my sins set me free and encounter me!! Jesus is calling you today please answer he loves you so very much
