Seen this a hundred times and I just noticed at 2:23 there’s a frame of Hunter flinching at Belos’s cursed form. Combined with shots like at 0:19 immediately followed by Hunter in a scout uniform, it really shows how the adults in Hunter’s life like Lilith failed him and left him at the mercy of Belos, offering only ridicule as a response rather than comfort or even the bare minimum of respect.

it's actually so chilling when you think of it from hunter's perspective. he literally grew up being told this kind of stuff - e.g. "i know that we can win / i know that greatness lies in you / but remember from here on in / history has its eyes on you" - and this animatic so PERFECTLY captured how well of a manipulator belos is. there's a double meaning to everything he says - e.g. "i led my men straight into a massacre" - that's EXACTLY how manipulation works. somone says something, and then twists it around to gain sympathy from the other person to make themselves look innocent. the only reason we KNOW belos is lying in this animatic is because he was established as a villain to us from the start. but imagine HUNTER, who grew up with belos as his only parental figure, and his identity was just completely rooted in belos belos belos. he would have had NO idea of belos' evilness whatsoever because everything that was said to him sounded so innocent, like this song. and now i just realised hunter is a lot more traumatised than i thought. in short, this video is *chef's kiss*
