We don't recommend using two EVO 16's together as it makes for a cumbersome setup. If you need more I/O then expanding with the SP8 is the way to go!

No, the EVO 8 doesn't have any Optical I/O so it's not possible to have more than 4 inputs at one time. If you do need more input then we'd recommend using the EVO 16 instead which can be expanded to up to 24 inputs if required!

I want to connect the Colour Box v2 and use it as a preamp. Is it safe to use this on the evo 16? I'm asking because all inputs on the evo 16 are preamps. I don't see a feature to bypass these on the evo or in the software.

Yes, that would work perfectly fine! It isn't possible to bypass the pre-amps on EVO 16 but if you just set them to minimum gain then they are clean enough that you'll get no noticeable distortion colouration or noise added to your external pre-amp signal.

The JFETs on channels 1+2 are only in use when you have the instrument mode enabled for these channels If you turn Instrument mode off, then inputs 1+2 are just another pair of Mic Pre inputs and these will work just fine with a Condenser mic and will provide full 48V phantom power

The JFET input only applies if you have the Instrument mode enabled on channels 1+2. Otherwise, input 1+2 are just standard Mic/Line inputs and will be able to send full phantom power to a condenser microphone connected via the XLR input

I am pretty disappointed that there is no good instructions on how to do this. The loopback options are grayed out in the mixer!!! How is this function disabled for your flagship device?

The smart mute function is implemented in the hardware so it is not possible to disable this function. If you do need speakers and headphones to play at the same time, I'd recommend either the EVO 8 or the iD4 instead.

I find it funny that everyone show the SP8 connected to an EVO 16. Like their main Audio Interface is an Evo 16. Let's see it connected to your main Audio Interface and show how it was connected and setup in your DAW. And I don't mean Audient Interfaces. In the routing matrix, found in the system panel of the EVO mixer software, you can assign any pair of outputs to be the ALT speaker output. Then when ever you press the ALT speaker button, playback will be switched to the outputs that you have selected as the ALT speakers.

Hello, the EVO 4 will drive the 250 Ohm Beyerdynamic DT770's to a more than usable volume so you can use either the 80 Ohm or 250 Ohm version.

No, it's not possible to use both outputs at the same time. The Smart Mute feature will automatically mute the speaker outputs when a set of headphones are plugged in.

Create a separate and simple video on how to use Evo4 and Evo8 for Karaoke where the source of the -1 track could be KZfaq from the same computer. When Logic Pro 11 launches, it causes my Evo 16 outputs (and headphone outputs) to pop or click twice. It's only a low level click, but it's still audible. Also, after about 20 to 30 minutes, Logic loses connection with my Evo 16 and asks if I want to connect to another audio device. Are you aware of these issues?

Hello there, the initial clicks or pops are likely the sound of EVO 16 changing sample rates to match the Logic Session so this is normal behaviour but the unit shouldn't be dropping out. It's not possible to bypass the pre-amp circuit on the EVO 16 or EVO SP8. However, the on-board pre-amps are clean enough that you can plug an external pre-amp into the line input and you won't notice any additional colouration or noise being introduced by the EVO pre-amp to your audio.

question, can you use the anilog outs into the anilog in's of another interface? Yes, you can set the SP8 to operate as an analogue pre-amp with the pre-amp outputs being sent to the analogue outputs of SP8 in order to feed another 8-channel interface.

I wish all the controls just had their own knobs. The one giant knob and multiple combinations of clicks and holds to reveal parameters means that you can't just see where you're at at a glance. I get that this is because it's a digital amp, but the best of both worlds would be cool.

We're not sure if it's the smallest, but it's certainly pretty small and light enough to use while travelling. Its also fully USB bus powered so you don't have to carry an extra power supply or worry about finding a power outlet.

Hi, I wound up buying the SP8 even though I didn't have a strong use case for it. I was going to return it but it wasn't worth the hassle. Now I want to use it for mixing in Dolby Atmos. Can the 8 outputs be used for connecting to powered monitors?

You can use the SP8 to feed an ATMOS setup. However, the SP8 doesn't have a volume control for the outputs so you'd need to use either an external monitor controller or control the monitoring volume on your computer. If you haven't already, I'd also check out the Audient ORIA which is an interface/monitor controller designed from the ground up for ATMOS and Immersive audio setups

We don't recommend connecting multiple EVO 16's together as the EVO 16 is designed to be the host interface, not a standalone expander box. Using the EVO 16 as the main interface and adding SP8's as expanders is the best way to go.

If you are connecting the EVO 8 to a USB-A port then you will be limited to only 2 channels of Phantom power due to the lower current available on USB-A connections. To use all 4 channels of phantom power, you'd need to be using a USB-C port.

Yes, we'd recommend having the volumes on the synths set to the max before setting teh Gains on the SP8. If you do find that the output of the synths is too loud for the SP8 and you're getting clipping, then you can just roll back the volume on the synth slightly until you're getting a more suitable signal level

You can flip the polarity of every input by pressing the Ø button found at the top of each input channel in the software mixer. It isn't possible to flip the polarity of your outputs though I'm afraid.

Hello sir, I bought EVO 8 today and I’m facing an issue after I record the vocals I’m not able to hear in my studio monitors. It’s only heard in Headphones. The other thing is can I use this for Ableton Live Shows as I use Ableton Push 2 for live shows so I have to give the metronome to the musicians and singers also have to manage the main master out together.

If you have the studio monitors plugged into outputs 1+2, then plugging a set of headphones into headphone output 1 will mute the speaker outputs. To avoid this, I'd recommend plugging the headphones into headphone output 2.

Hi ADAM..... Recently purchased an Audient EVO 16 and have been using it for about 1 week. I have used reaper for the past 3 years with my old interface ( Presonus Audiobox iTwo) without any issues I'm about to mention. I have noticed when running Reaper and using the EVO, I am experiencing metronome issues, such as no click present on count in when enabled and the click from the metronome only being heard when there is signal present from my guitar. As soon as I stop playing my guitar and recording is still in progress the metronome will stop playing as well. Any idea as what would cause this?
