great idea with the cards to protect the wheels, much better than using newspaper and masking tape, thanks for the video :D

@camhyde970112 сағат бұрын
yeah i wouldn't rate the LS7 in the S band... it would only belong there if it was reliable

Thinking about doing this to my rims but how long will the paint last on the rims if you drive everyday?
@running2redline10 сағат бұрын
I’ve had it last a few years doing this, but you’ll occasionally need to touch up a spot or two usually on the edge of the rim. When you get tires changed some of the edge can scrape. I just fix this by spraying paint onto a plate and using a cotton swap as a brush to fill in the paint.

Great video! I'll be doing mine soon so it's a lifesaver. Quick question : how long did You wait for the gasket maker before You put the vakve cover back on?
@running2redlineКүн бұрын
Thank you and good luck! I waited about 90 minutes for it using the Right Stuff gasket maker which recommended that set time. If you use a different gasket maker it should specify the set time on the back directions section of the bottle.

The reason that they had you bring your car 3 weeks before they did any work on it was that once that they had your car, you were committed..it's an old tactic..if they had let you bring it in 3 weeks later, you had that 3 weeks to change your mind/find a cheaper/better paint shop..

Agree heavily with the list EXCEPT the 5VZ being at the bottom. 3.4 is a legend in the Yota world, and I believe one just hit 1 million miles. Yes the other VZ engines arent as good. The 5 should have been it's own placement but I totally understand your logic

The B5244T5 is the strongest of the volvo engines, heavily sought after, and the true volvo enthusiasts agree that it is the engine that the P2R chassis cars should have gotten. It is significantly stronger than any B5254 series engine

It’s a good chart. Although, the Chrysler 3.3/3.8L belongs in the S tier. Like come on, those things rack up like 300-400k miles. That’s a really reliable, Powerful, and bulletproof engine…

There were a few errors in year/ make/ model charts, and the picture for the Dodge truck 3.9 V6 was wrong. The most interesting story was completely missed: how the Buick 90° V6 production equipment was SOLD to Kaiser-Jeep in 1967. Production of the Dauntless V6 for Jeeps ran from 1967 until 1971, when AMC purchased Kaiser-Jeep and decided to use their straight 6 on Jeeps instead of the V6. Then, following the first oil crisis, GM went to AMC and bought back the Buick V6 production equipment in 1974. They moved everything back to Flint, MI and resumed production in the same factory where it began in 1960.

what's wrong if you use an all-season tire a new one?
@running2redline11 күн бұрын
I could and they would be fine, but for a track car I’m looking for more of an extreme performance summer tire as they have a lot more grip than an all season. The downside is higher wear and poor wet weather grip, but I only drive this car on weekends and the track so that won’t be an issue. Thanks for watching and good to see you here again!

If I can't afford a S2000 in the next 5 years I'll definitely buy a NC. Planning any engine mods? I've think a NC with 200whp, coilovers and tires could beat a brand new GR86. You would need either high compression, nitrous, boost, or a sister swap to get that without ruining weight balance with a V8. Excited to see what you do!
@running2redline8 күн бұрын
I’ve got race coilovers, a full rear suspension rebuild, and sticky 200tw tires coming in the next few days! I’m thinking that will really make the car hang with some fast stuff in the bends. As for the engine nothing at the moment, I’ll probably install an oil cooler though as it’s running really hot down here in Florida while on track. Thinking I’ll run it until it dies then go for the 2.5 swap. Thanks for following the build!

Supercar performance and brutal sound - gotta love the LS9!
@brettwhite898212 күн бұрын
LS9 is definitely S tier even more so than the LS7. The LS7 had too thin cylinder walls and that valve drop issue. The LS9 was basically bullet proof. Otherwise a fairly accurate list. I owned a 2003 Z06 with the LS6 and never had an issue with mine. I loved that engine. Sorry you had an issue with yours.
