Love this option of gluing the hexies right on the fabric! Would Aileen’s glue be too thick for that?

I use a wonder chip to hold the fabric as I stitch around the hexie paper while moving the clip.. Pins tend to bow the paper, and skews the hexie on me.

Please tell me the attachment name that goes on top of the walking foot? I have been looking for months (my walking foot doesn’t have holes and I need to buy this attachment ❤ I know this video was awhile ago but please help me out!!!!

Thanks for the simple directions for putting the tape on the machine and then using it for HST and flying geese

If you use a hole punch on the paper hexi, you can pin inside the hole to hold your fabric to the paper. Makes it easy to remove the paper also.

Greater t instructions and a nice way to save the papers stay reusable, rather than over worked with needle basting.

Don't take the papers out until it's been joined on all sides.

If your hexis get "too" wrinkled... Ironing them with a dry iron really helps. 💖🌞🌵😷

Super cute project bag!! Love the fabrics you chose for the demo and the finished project.

Frixion pens are not advisable for use on fabric- and that’s from the manufacturers themselves (Pilot). You can get “ghost lines” which reappear with cooler temperatures, as the chemicals in the ink stay in the fabric after you iron away the colour. And it doesn’t wash out (& your dryer can ‘bake in’ those lines). Just a friendly warning. Chalk is good, hera marker fold lines are best.

Great video! Explains how to sew with ban roll perfectly. I buy this by the 50 yard roll. Just finished a 5 layer wedding dress, brides maid dresses, 2 military ball dresses and countless costumes. It gives such a clean,perfect hem even on the curves. I use my zipper foot to sew it on.

This is the best explained video for doing this method. All the other videos do not go into detail like this one does. Thank you for showing us this.

Tip: draw round your template for as many pieces you wish to cut out, then you can cut them out all in one go (adding seam allowance) and it speeds up the process as no need for pinning. Lovely to see hand basting, it's just as quick as glue, looks after the corners, and allows for quick paper template removal after. If you have the pieces flat-edged together rather than the whole piece front to front, then whip stitch flat you will never get a joining stitch showing on the front and it makes joining sections to larger projects very easy.
