Didn't age well at all. Every institution is infested with them now. People keep saying the United States "lost" its wars, and speaking strictly in terms of the stated strategic goals, it did. But there's also the fact that the stated strategic goals... don't really make sense? The US has never had a vested interest in the state of Afghanistan one way or another; it's an economically and politically irrelevant country. So you either have to believe that the American government and military leadership are idiots... or that the actual purpose of these conflicts is NOT the stated strategic goal. The war in Afghanistan "cost" the US government 2.3 trillion dollars, almost every cent of which was paid to our own domestic defense industry. That money went to Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, etc, and then to their contractors and employees. It circulated in the US economy, getting taxed by the government every step of the way, and at this point they've likely recouped most of that 2.3 trillion. The little money that was lost - and the lives that were lost - were an acceptable cost for what amounts to 20 years of make-work programs and corporate subsidies. These wars provide another valuable function to the government... they act as training grounds. The United States is one of the only developed countries whose military includes a large number of personnel who've actually seen combat. That's an advantage over, say, China, whose military is largely untested. It also serves to acclimate the American public (especially the lower class) to the idea of their sons coming home in boxes. If we were to spend too long at peace, we might become too averse to those losses to sustain any future interventions.

Just listen to one speech by Adolf or Gobbles. Take the word jew or jewish out of it and it still sounds exactly like modern right wingers. The main self proclaimed enemies of the Nazis were "jewish bolshovics" aka communist and socialist they constantly claimed they weren't actually socialist and that the parts of the economy they did control were only temporary for the war effort.

Saddam Hussein was placed in control of irag as a puppet dictator by the CIA with the expectation that he would agree to "profit sharing agreements" for Iraqi oil in the same way as Kuwaiti, iran, saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries. After his installation , Hussein refused to turn over the oil to foreign oil companies but nationalized the Iraqi oil industry and used the oil profits to fund the government instead of taxing the citizens. The 1980 Iran Iraq war was started by Khomeini, not Hussein. Aft 10 years of war ended Iraq discovered that Kuwait had funded both sides of the war with profits from stolen from Iraq ( by kigngoring a treaty between the two nation to share oil extraction from the oil fields at the border. The UN world court sided with Iraq and called for Kuwait to reduce oil production to allow iraq to recover the stolen oil. Kuwait refused to slow production so iraq invaded the Kuwaiti oil fields to force compliance It's worth noting that a mysterious organization called "The Texas Oilmen" manager to get military contracts for oil rig firefighters well in advance of the 1990.

I started to question my redpill phase when Trump's campaign reached his heights, and the online "pillheads" in my country started becoming a sort of toxic masculinity self-help movement, while talks about him started praising him as a personality cult, simultaneously the "weird left" section also embraced nationalism with similar rhetorics. I realized "my" internet became a big echo chamber of basically "Good men create good time". The final nail to me was the MGTOW movement, incels, and just extremely-anti-feminist/outright-mysogynist rhetorics, I was like "Zamn bros did you know you can like men without hating women?"

Here's another perspective for you. Being born in the Soviet Union, Germany, German language and everything German was always tied to Nazis - and to this day, Russians will use both German, Nazi and Fascist terms interchangeably, with prejudice! Heck, they still make dozens of movies about the heroic Red Army soldiers during WWII, and call it a great patriotic war, marching their military might every year on May 9th, then getting drunk in that parks of Moscow. Most of the world calls that war what it was - WWII and commemorates the victory day but doesn't celebrate it with all the pompousness of the Russians. I am also a Jew, and the scars of the Nazi atrocities are still bleeding for the Jewish people. I have visited several concentration camp "museums" - and the feeling of horror and anger are accompanied by a lump in the throat and tears in the eyes. There is an acute sensitivity to everything Nazi in our people. Having said that, today's Germany is surely reformed - and the crimes of grandparents cannot and should not be levied against today's Germans. Heck - Germany is the staunchest supporter of Israel in Europe! And yet when you listen to Rammstein, when you hear the harsh German language, spoken purposefully in a manner that hitler did, when you see the Jewish prisoners on the end of the rope - you can try to understand the strings such scenery evokes. I like the song, I think the video is very talented and thought provoking, the band is trying to stay in the spotlight by playing with controversial subjects, leaving us to interpret their intent. But I could see why it bothers some people.

Please show me where in the US Constitution it gives you a right to murder a child in the womb? Abortion was not banned by the Supreme Court. They simply declared the judgement unconstitutional, which it obviously is. The fact that you pretend to care about historical facts and the proper functioning of US democratic institutions just proves how disingenuous modern leftists are these days. You will literally say anything to gain power. No lie is off limits. You're happy to disguise yourself as a rational and principled individual in order to knowingly assert things you know to be false. I used to think leftists were just good people with bad ideas. Now I realize that most of you are simply bad people who will do anything to gain power and force your will upon the rest of us. No matter what it takes, goodness will prevail over evil in the end. You can be certain of that.

14:22 You say the trade unions were destroyed, but make no mention of the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF) [German Labor Front] . Which was a nationalized trade union that effectively took over all of the independent ones. Though you do mention the Kraft durch Freude (KdF) [Strength through Joy] which was a suborginization of the DAF itself. So you most likely know the DAF existed but choose to omit it in order to make your point. And in the begining, I feel like there was a bit of goal post moving with their "mob rule" analogy as your example of the pole results still show that the NSDAP won by a majority vote. Which could be argued as 'mob rule' as the biggest group 'mob' won by votes (most popular). Maybe the NSDAP is not your ideal version of socialism, and maybe the DAF is not your type of union. But I believe it was a form of such things.

I would say that "not all 'X' are bad" can be usually equally as often to agree with the idea that there are systemic flaws and that the average 'X' is a problem, but that there are exceptions which should be noted to show that some parts of the existing system are not based the in existing flaws, but maybe more so corrupted by it. The statement admits the flawed state of the system it defends, which means any group hoping to take up the phrasing has to push such an idea, even euphemistically, and therefore it will never be abstractly conservative, reactionary, or otherwise. It is, when talking generally, an argument for cautious reform.

There's another subtle, insidious thing these pragerU and years-after-fact revisionists are doing which 3 Arrows _almost_ picked up on, and im surely not the only one who notices: all media commentary at the time used the term "WMDs" - plural, not "WMD" - mass noun, as they're doing now. This is because "WMDs" at the time was used in reference to the nuclear weapon stock, plus production and supply infrastructure. Chemical and biological weapons were referred to as chemical and/or biological weapons because those arsenals were known to have existed and been used in egregious violations of the Geneva convention. By using "WMD" as a mass noun, while calling back to the Iran-Iraq war, PragerU is intentionally retroactively conflating those known to exist chemical and biological weapons with the asserted to exist nukes, which were the entire WMD-rationale and for which it was known even at the time the "smoking gun evidence" never emerged.

I always disliked how some people feel entitled to judge this generation from a safe historical distance. It’s easy to be a righteous person in a free democratic society, but it wasn’t back then. Nobody knows how they would have acted in this scenario, but it feels good to run around today and show off your hypothetical moral superiority. Just learn about history and figure it out for yourself, but stop the annoying scolding. Germans will never succeed in finding a rational and balanced self-identification in the shadow of the 1968 "revolution", which was fueled by narcissism and intergenerational trauma. We gotta let go off the moralism.

JP never condemned Donald Trump for accelerating the mayhem by the way. The Nazis enslaved millions of Europeans for their factories during the war. Hitler's mediocre mentality is not exceptional among many leaders, so the fact that he lost the war committing mistakes is not surprising to a student of military history. However, one may wonder if JP ever read Mein Kampf, a blueprint of Hitler's primary intentions: to purge Jews and steal Slavic land, which he set out to do when he attacked Poland, hoping that England and France would just shrug and fidget and bluster. Hitler gambled and lost. JP is a champion authoritative obfuscater and oversimplifier.
