WHAT AN INSULT TO SHOW A PHOTO OF A RAT AS AN OPENING IMAGE! If you don't understand, ask somebody, preferably Southern, Black and Christian. AND A TRUE GOSPEL FAN. This cuts to the core and would have been so deeply offensive and insensitive to both Sullivan and Iola. You are poverty with uncleanliness. PRESUMED poverty. The Consolers were one of the most popular Gospel groups of the Golden Era. You think you're a cultural hipster, you're mistaken. You have excellent taste in music. THANK YOU,Pal. But you soooo missed it. A Black super-cynical Ivy League atheist would tell you the same. Deeply-ingrained tropes. BLESS YO'HEART.😵💫🤔😐😵💫

I would love to see Maggie Bell again. I remember her as a very young girl, when she would visit her cousins, aunts and uncles at 3616 W. 13th St. There was her uncle and aunt, Marie and Jesse Lawrence and her cousins Terry, Larry, Shiela and Linda Lawrence. Ms. Marie was our babysitter while my mom was at work! We all attended the Lawson Elementary School! This was around 1955- 1959. Then, we went to middle school at Julius Hayes Hess from 6th grade to 8th grade! So many great childhood memories!

I am from the Orthodox Church and I don’t know English (wrote a message through a translator), but I love this kind of gospel music with all my being. I felt bad, but I accidentally found this song here and now I listen to it very often. This somehow gives me encouragement and comfort, calming me down. It seems to me that this is the same example when the Word of God immediately penetrates the soul, regardless of the language of speech, because God speaks to us in the language of love, which everyone understands. Music of true Christian spirit! God bless you all!

If mother Oliver was given a few minutes she would have set the whole studio on 🔥. She was a member of Pauls under the late Bishop L H Ford, the late Bishop C M Ford and pastor Kevin Ford.

This song reminds of the legendary Gospel Music Historian, Brother Linwood Heath. He was host of a gospel music radio program out of Norristown, PA. On his program he would play vintage gospel music, and interview many gospel music artists including the Norfleet Brothers and many other trailblazers in gospel music. I believe if he were here today he could indeed identify the brothers by name. Gospel Highway 11 is missing an angel. RIH Bro. Linwood Heath. 😇
