I am 7 years out from levaquin. Almost died, I got really sick head fever. Went to Dr. He did a x ray and CTScan of my lungs. Came back and said I was really sick with pneumonia and asthma. He prescribed levofloxacin and prednisone. I said you think this is ok to take together. I had a check about. I should have listened to myself. Dr said you’re really sick just take it. I took two doses that day and my life changed that day. Next morning woke up to my body being bombed in night. I could not walk , knee blowed and whole body shot, to much to share here. It almost took my life. Come to find out my lungs were perfect , no pneumonia or asthma. This took me on a journey of being mocked and ridiculed by Drs and family. 24-7 terrible pain head to toes. Lost job, family, friends. Found u are never to give these antibiotics with a steroid. No discipline or repercussions with Dr. I relate so much to this man. I still have major issues with my body and walking etc.

ugh! this is so awful, yet so familar. I too blew out my knee and legs felt like dead weight and I couldn't walk. Doctor should NEVER let someone take both a steroid and a quinolone (and shouldnt be prescrdibing a fluoroquinolone at all unless there is no other choice and it's life and death) What Chuck and I were saying is that it is fine to take a steroid years out from taking the antibiotic. We both had steroid shots that helped us, but it was years after taking the Fluoroquinolone. I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through this-as I personally know how awful it is. And the doctors dismissing us just makes it so much worse. Do you find you are gettng better? I hope so. I am much better than I was six years ago-but still not where I want to be. Doctors now think I could have Rheumatoid Arthriits. My legs are a lot better but still have pretty bad neck and back weakness. I do find that mild excercise, stretching and strength training is working and so is being treated for RA and other autoimmune diseases

New to this topic/video bt been to ER & GP several times. Everyone says anxiety. Heart & everything always checked out. Just last night went to ER for sudden loss of breath goin up stairs at work. I took doxycycline for 6 days for a UTI I got from some girl and then the doctor switched me to ciprofloxacin that was 7 weeks ago and I'm still dealing with gastro problems and chronic insomnia. Every night I go to bed I worry that I'm not going to sleep. I feel like these idiot doctors have no idea what they're prescribing. I don't know what to do everyday I worry about sleeping my life has become a living hell😢. I've been to the ER two times, the gastroenterologist, the urologist two times, I've had my A1C checked, I've had my blood checked for everything and everything looks good. But yet I still struggle to sleep at night and still having weird pain in my abdomen what seems to be related to I assume dysbiosis. I'm taking probiotics pills, Greek yogurt, sauerkraut, kefir, and anything that I can to help my gut biome. For the last 2 weeks I've been doing this to no avail still having problems sleeping 🤦 it's like they didn't even believe me I had to beg my primary care doctor to prescribe lorazepam to help me sleep.

Insomnia is so awful-and it's terrible that you and everyone else are suffering so much because of doctors' ignorance. The good news is that everyone I talked to with the stomach symptoms eventually got better with time. Magnesium and Melatonin can help with sleep. I'm not sure if it's available where you live, but I found that medical marijuana really helped with sleep. Of course, the the best thing to help with sleep, which is so hard to do, is to try to not care about it. Because the more you try to sleep, the harder it becomes. So, if you can't sleep, getting up and reading a book or doing something else to take your mind off slep can really help

I think I went up to about 200mg in the beginning, but if that doesn't work after you have been on it a while, there could be others worth trying. Different medications work for different people often depending on what your co-existing conditions are. I'm so sorry you are gointg through this! How long ago did you take it? For some people it just takes a couple of weeks to months of resting and then they get better. Others take longer, but almost everyone eventuallly gets significantly better. Perhaps it could help to get all of your vitamin, iron and hormone levels tested. Regardless of the results vitamin D and Magnesium could help. Depending on your symptoms, you could have unmasked an autoimmune disease, so it might be good to see a rheumatololgist to run some antibody tests for autoimmune disease. If you are having trouble walking or feel muscle weakness, it could be good to go to a neuorlogist to get tested for myasthenia gravis and Guilliane Barre. They wont want to test you for that unless you are in a wheelchair, but if your eyes, neck, arms legs feel week insist on those blood tests. You could have a peripheral neuropathy in which case a neurologist could help and if you are struggling with insomnia or anxiety etc a psyhiatrist could help. Regardless, it could be good to speak with a therapist to help you get through this time. I wyouould try to focus on the symptoms and less on telling the doctor you were floxed. You could tell them the symtpoms started X days after the medication, but leave it at that and then focus on your symptoms. Sending prayers that you are one of the people who get better quickly.!

I;m healing slowly but surely. I had lots of prior autoimmune issues and a gene that predisposes me to autoimmune disease, so I took much longer than most. But most everyone gets better and much quicker than I did-the stomach issues especially seem to clear up with time. I've heard that taking probiotics can help-it's worth getting checked out by a GI doctor, but time is usually the best healer. Also, keep track of if particular foods are more problematic than others-gluten and sugar can be big triggers.

If one uses people from real life as charachters in the daydreams, is it possible that then the things one immagined about the real-life people are attributed to those people in real life? Like, for example, my friend fantasizes a lot about people she barely know and I think she ends up suspecting things of them which are totally fruit of her immagination. She attributes intentions and thoughts to people's behaviour though she barely knows them.

Interesting when it starts to bleed into real life like that, I think it is a bit beyond the scope of maladaptive daydreaming. You might have to experiment to see which medication works best but one should reduce the pain-sending healing thoughts-know you will get better! And promise me you will call someone if you are actually planning on taking steps to end things. There is a community of people here who have all went through what you are and have gotten better and want to see you pull through too. It's also a good idea to see a mental health professional. A new onset of painful symptoms is traumatic ad you need to have some support working through that trauma. It will get better-you just need to give ti the time to get there.

this is what Steve said; Most studies are using 25mcg 3 times a week infused over 15 min in a small bag of saline, but 75mcg once a week may be good if 3 times a week is not practical.

I am glad that I found you guys. Is there a support group? I got floxed in 2004. I have had so many symptoms that you guys described. I am thinking of doing stem cell therapy. Has anyone done this and if so, did it help? Any other methods that people have used and recovered?

So sorry that I am just seeing this now-and so sorry that this happened to you! There isnt an online support group that I know of but maybe we should create one. It would be important that we had a professional lead it though because otherwise we might bring each other down and people will give all sorts of advice (much of it expensive) that doesnt work for everyone. I have heard mixed results on stem cells-some say it' cured him but most say it didnt help and a few say it actually made things worse. Have you ruled out all autoimmune disease, vitamin deficiency, hormone and iron deficiencies? those type of tests woudl be covered by insurance and can all be unmasked or caused by these antibiotics.

I totally agree with everything you've said. These drugs should never be prescribed, period, except for anthrax. The side effects are severe and long lasting and some never recover. Also, Motrin/ibuprofen is contraindicated and will make your symptoms much worse and which is why some never recover. ....I believe it also contributes to auto immune diseases and if research into meds taken by people in the previous two yrs of diagnosis, it would reveal that a huge number had these antibiotics. It is so underreported because its hard to make the connection.

I developed long covid badly for two years and the brain damage (yes long covid causes brain damage) seems to include my MDD getting even worse, probably because my executive function got worse and I was experiencing chronic trauma of being medically incapacitated and in shock and heartbreak at most of society abandoning and denying all of us with long COVID and cruelly declaring the pandemic over, it was medically and socially traumatic so not great for MDD.

Hello how many shoots of steroids did you took ? My ANA test is always positive and I got prescribe steroids becuase doctors says I have a lot of inflammation. My question is did it help you to take the steroids?? What you think will help with lightheaded and extreme fatigue
@overcoming-togetherbyjayne3857
@overcoming-togetherbyjayne3857 3 ай бұрын
I had a few steroid injections in my neck-they helped a bit. I didnt take any steroid medication-if you are on them too long they have long-term side effects like osteoporosis. I think they are fine to try briefly as long as you aren't or havent been on the fluroquinolone for several months. But at the end of the day, it's always best to find a diagnosis if possible instead of just trying steroids to see if it will work. Have you seen a good rheumatologist and done a through rheumatological workup. I would try a few before jumping to the steroids. Also ask your doctor about low dose naltrexone which is showing to be good for inflammation without the side-effects of the steroids
