Just found your channel a few days ago, and wanted to say thank you for bringing such a contagious positive energy to your videos!! it genuinely makes it so nice to watch and makes _me_ giddy about the figures lol Also, I was wondering if there’s any chance you could give a full review to this T. rex, as I am looking into buying it and would love to know the thoughts of someone who’s owned it for a little while now. If not, a simple comment of pros and cons would be a big help in deciding. Cheers!! 🫶🏼

Thank you so much for your support! ❤️🦖 It is greatly appreciated, and it's lovely to hear when people enjoy my videos! I'd love to do a full review of this rex, but don't know when I'd ever get around to it 🙈 Hopefully I will sometime, but in the meantime I can tell you this T. rex is my absolute favourite dinosaur toy EVER, and I do recommend it! 😊 However, it is very large and expensive, and the base it comes with really isn't much use, so the stand that CBS are currently developing for it will also be a necessary purchase. I'm currently using a shortened Gundam stand for mine, but the rex still shifts a little under her own weight, especially when it's hot, and can tip over, so I kept her somewhere where she cannot fall and get scuffed (or injure anyone, she weighs a LOT 🙀) You'll also have to factor in a parts box for the interchangeable pieces when you're not using them to keep them all together 😊 Negatives aside, this is the most impressive dinosaur toy I've EVER seen! 😻 The articulation is good, the interchangeable parts aren't too difficult to swap around, the paint quality is top-notch and is durable, and the sheer presence of this figure, of having a rex who's been reconstructed on scientific data and measurements at this scale is awesome!! I hope this helps 😊 Thank you again! 🦖🦖

So any facts and discussion from people who are genuine, and who are genuinely interested in the subject, and are willing to engage are most welcome! 🤗 I would love to see Sue for myself some day. I love Rebor's Kiss, but Eofauna's is now the definitive T-rex for me. That there are multiple recent contenders for 'best' - Creative Beast, PNSO, Rebor... - shows that we're now in the golden age for dinosaur collectors.
@aeonfire8212 күн бұрын
I couldn't agree more! 🦖❤️ This is a truly outstanding figure from Eofauna, there is a strong good reason for every choice they've made with this reconstruction, and it's such good value, too! The removable base is a stroke of genius; Sue here stands without it, broadening display options, but with it, she'll never distort and fall and we'll always be able to put her right. Even the stands provided with PNSO figures sometimes fall short of adequately supporting the figures themselves, especially in hot weather (some of mine are suffering with that currently)! But there honestly has never been a better time to be a dinosaur toy collector, it's an embarrassment of riches for us. Space and finances are our only limit! 😊🦖❤️

@aeonfire8212 күн бұрын
It's certainly the primitive condition! 😊 There are a lot of very good reasons why Sue here looks the way she looks, Eofauna have really done their research here, as you'd expect. Their decisions may be jarring to some, but they're based on the reality of what they had to work with. She doesn't look "mammalian" at all to my eyes which has been a criticism, and I don't think it's surprising that she looks odd to a lot of people, given her facial anatomy. She is a brilliant practical exercise in the application of knowledge and inference! Definitely my new favourite T. rex 😊🦖

She's certainly fantastic value, as well as a brilliant new take on a genus that's been reworked SO many times!! At 7:25 I wonder if this one could raise the spikes? or lower them.. or are they stunk in one place like a sheep's horns?
@aeonfire82Ай бұрын
They weren't fixed to the ribcage, however they were limited in movement by the other dermal structures around them! Rather like a suit of medieval armour and chainmail 😊 I think the confusion came from the spines being scattered around the fossil, rather than preserved as they were in life, as with Borealopelta. I suspect that the Safari Ltd version is accurate, as PNSO do sometimes use contradictory information for their models!

The next best thing to a live shoebill, I'd say 😆🦕 Thank you for watching! To answer Finn's question about Compies in the Jurassic Park franchise: there is no evidence (yet) of venom in any prehistoric dinosaur. Venom production is associated with specific bone and tooth structures, for which no evidence has ever been found. There was a case postulated around 15 years ago for Sinornithosaurus, a relative of Velociraptor, but this was later proven to be a mistake. Recently, a study has indicated that Compsognathus itself is the juvenile of a small megalosaurid, and may not even be a taxon in its own right! Real palaeontology and discoveries continue to change and update what we thought we knew about dinosaurs, and there are many fascinating and amazing future discoveries in store 😊🦖

This one’s a really cool figure. HLG really outdid themselves with this one and it towers over their Apatosaurus, which is still impressive in its own right. And Alamosaurus is a cool dinosaur in general, considering that it lived in North America at the end of the Cretaceous and was the only sauropod that is likely to have encountered T. rex. And I bet even a T. rex would know to stay out of the way of these behemoths, the same way even lions in Africa and tigers in Asia generally prefer not to mess with elephants.

@@aeonfire82 I think it’s awesome that while sauropods like Apatosaurus, Diplodocus, and Brachiosaurus, are often associated with the Jurassic period, one group, the Titanosaurs, made it until the end of the Cretaceous, and were doing just fine up until then. Not to mention that they were the biggest land animals to ever exist.

BOTM just keep getting more and more exciting! 😊 They've already come so far since the 'raptor series. I'm delighted that Cyberzoic sailed through its Kickstarter campaign every bit as easily as previous dinosaur-only campaigns. I had been concerned that launching a line of figures based on an entirely new and huge sci-fi world might be too much of an ask for supporters, especially with dragons in the mix, and I'm ridiculously happy for them that it has succeeded!
