I had an odd issue with my car cutting off also. Sometimes it would happen going uphill and even downhill. Then it started doing it when I would come to a stop at a light or even a sharp turn. Very strange. Found out it was just a fuel filter that had trash caught up in it. Changed that and the issue went away. Some vehicles have two filters on them. One is on the fuel line at the motor and the other was right before the fuel tank. I can only hope that could be part of your issue. However, if your vehicle is getting hot you need to take it to a shop right away. Could be something as simple as a thermostat stuck or needing replaced. Most decent shops can put your van on a diagnostic machine and determine the issue right away. It could also be a sensor for the fuel mix, They do also make diagnostic tools that anyone can use from home. Amazon sells these. There is a plug in port under your dash that they hook to. These things usually give you a code number and points out the issue right away. Just be sure you order the correct one for your vehicle. I pray you get this figured out cheaply. Best wishes going forward and so sorry to hear of your loss. My wife and I adopt many needy pets and give them and good forever home. We have lost so many over the years and it never gets any easier. Blessings to you!

Possible blown head gasket,( white smoke out exhaust) possible stuck thermostat hopefully that's it, if your engine temp gauge is running hot, its not fuel related, you should leave the fuel system alone, if it was fuel would be hard start but your car turns right over, so its not your fuel pump, you would rough idle if it was fuel you don't seem to have that either,

Hey Freedom. Why are you not ordering or making window coverings? You should not expose yourself to the world while sleeping in a van. You can also get your windows tinted from a professional shop. They are not expensive. Take your van to a mechanic to make sure the van is sound. Don’t run the van while any smoke fumes coming from your van.

It’s hard to make that decision to go and then have stuff to get in the way. Set up your bed, put a few blankets on it, fill a bottle of water, take a few items to cook, get your bathroom stuff, go out into the wild and rough it a few days. Make some decisions on changes you want, clear your soul, commune with the mother. Breathe. You’ll feel better.

I agree with you. Many years of working in an office and dressing “ professionally” has completely changed the shape of my feet and created a very touchy sciatic nerve in my lower back. Now that I’m retired, I wear house shoes at home and sneakers when I’m not at home. Feet are taking on a more normal shape and spreading out as per how feet are supposed to be. And my back is much less painful. So, I agree, shoes aren’t made for feet and feet don’t need shoes as required by society standards.

Great video, you've got a good grasp of how the coolant system works. A simple flush of the heater core in & out lines/hoses, (many videos on youtube) might have been all you needed. No tearing into the dash. Good luck getting the van in shape!
@_ReturnToFreedom3 ай бұрын
Hey Awesome Socks!! Thank you 😊😊. Do you figure what the mechanic told me could be likely? Smell is just coming from the coolant that once leaked onto the transmission? It’s hard to tell cause I can’t get my face in there to smell it!! 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏
@_ReturnToFreedom3 ай бұрын
Ya - probably good to do heater core flushes!! Canadian tire said they wouldn’t do that cause then there is a risk to cause damage to the core and create a leak 🤷♀️ . Anyway, Thanks for the tip.
@awesomesocks4442 ай бұрын
HI, so if coolant level is NOT dropping in the reservoir & they did a pressure test, you're probably good as far as leaking. You might change your cabin air filter behind the glove box, especially if the former owner had a coolant problem. One last thing, being a pre owned vehicle pull the passenger side front floormat up and make sure the carpet is not wet with coolant. Good Luck!
@_ReturnToFreedom2 ай бұрын
@awesomesocks444 thanks for that. I did go on a wild goose chase for the cabin air filter a while back. Apparently this model/year doesn’t have it. I did look behind glove box. And yes did check under the mats for coolant as well. Thank you for your expertise!! 👋

Wow. Good job. Why don’t you purchase a rear view mirror camera? If you plan to live inside the van you don’t want everyone looking inside your rig. You could purchase the wireless connections to your rig and they are not expensive. For example, if you go inside planet fitness to shower, if your windows are see through your rig will eventually be broken into and there will be nothing you can do about it. I don’t want that to happen to you. I want you to be safe, so I can enjoy your adventures on KZfaq. I’m not trying to tell you what to do, but I know there are too many people waiting to commit a crime of opportunity. What I’m talking about is street smarts and an ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.

Wow. You have done an excellent job. I would recommend you don’t abandon the curtains just yet. Why don’t you go on more weekend trips for a few months before you do more work on your van. Attend some women’s vanlife events so you can get a feel for living in a van. You will probably be making adjustments for a while. Maybe you just need a seat adjustment where the seat can turn both ways instead of permanently be in reverse. What happens if you need to be stealth, your seat needs to be able to be forward. Also there are rubber squares you a put on the floor to cushion your knees. If you only camp for a while you won’t have to tell family about what you’re doing other than camping. Get adjusted first by trying vanlife on for a while. Who knows you might get a small scamp or trailer in the future. TTYL
