The HOTTAP is wind resistant, however, strong gusts of wind can cause it to flame out. You can use a flat metal sheet to divert wind effects or tape the side vents to help mitigate wind effects. 🙂

You can disconnect all the hoses from the HOTTAP. Tilting it from side to side will help it drain faster. 🙂

Oh no, that's the number of times you can use it before it gets filled. There's an indicator that tells you when the toilet is full so you can dispose of the contents and be ready for the next use. 🙂

someone needs to make one of these with a built in roof and floor. itll have less setup time, itll beat floors like the kick ass one cause itll be fitted and not shoot out the side, a roof is a must in winter to cut out that cold wind.

We just set this up today and the LED display does not work. The batteries were tested and are good. They were placed correctly as well into the case and up into the Joolca. Everything else works properly, so I’m glad for that. So we will be able to use this for camping but will not be able to use the LED screen.

Hey my wife and I have been longtime customers/users of the hottap and love the joolca company. We live off grid in Montana and are super ready to get away from the out door outhouse. It has to be upright since the flame must be under the heat exchanger. Also, the tilt sensor will prevent the HOTTAP from igniting if it's not upright. 🙂

Couple questions for use on a boat: Anyway to secure the base (obviously important on a boat), and in regards composting, could you not use a combo of the bag with the composting medium so that it is all "one & done" when it comes time for disposable?

Just placed order for 3x reach extension hose. can i connect these together to extend it to 98 ft to a stream as advertised in the joolca videos? i bought the outing kit thinking it comes with the reach extension hose but it did not. if i am able to connect 3x of these hose together, will i still get normal water pressure coming from it?

Good question! You're right, you can extend the hose to a maximum of 98 feet. However, the pressure will decrease. For the best performance, we recommend using two extension hoses max (65ft). This ensures that the HOTTAP will work across all flow settings. 🙂

This is an unreliable piece of equipment.Stay away from it. For the hearing element to kick in a minimum Water flow rate must be met. Mine will not flow fast enough to start heating the water with the shower head attached. Even when doing this it sometimes doesn't flow fast enough to trigger the heating element.

We have the Joolca Ensuite single. Recently we gutted our single bathroom for a remodel. We set up the Joolca Ensuite out outside our kitchen window, and I ran hot water to it from the kitchen faucet. Worked great ! We used it for a week and a half, guyed it with the four supplied guy lines and it endured 40 mile an hour wind gusts and rain. Took lots of showers, outstanding gear ! New shower is in, got the Joolca sitting outside drying in the sun so I can put it away.

When you recirculate water with the hot tap the water get's too hot. This occurs even when the hot tap is turned all the way down. Any ideas to fix this?
