It is a bubble but the thing is that almost the entire US stock market is a bubble, and especially the US tech industry is a bubble. So, It's kind of hard to really say how long it will take to pop, and it could never pop if, for example, AGI is invented soon. Even if it does pop, the US government will just print money and bail everyone out, and then afterwards things will continue like nothing happened. The US will do whatever is necessary to keep investment in tech regardless of how much money they lose or their negative profit margins. They basically can't lose because of the government.

Can we also start calling it weak AI, as it is by no means a true AI. This is like when they jumped the gun with 5g when they said we have 5g but none of them actually hit the actual technological standard, but this is more extreme.

AI in its current state is useful, and given some time will become more so, but is being overhyped as a marketing buzzword, and so there will be an associated bubble

It will eliminate a lot of the clerical work that isn't nuanced and is straightforward but beyond that it will not replace humans. In fact it might make them smarter and think more emotionally and creatively which no AI can ever replace.

LLMs are potentially in a bubble and overhyped, but LLMs<>AI. But we haven’t seen the full potential of LLMs yet, especially when combined with other AI technologies, so the LLM bubble might not pop anytime soon.

I think it could have something to do with the Data. You can't expect exponential growth with a finite resource like Data. Look at the Google AI results with the "glue on pizza" response after it combed the internet for training data. AGI might not be as easily obtainable as we might have thought.

For anyone knows about AI, the core component of AI is always the machine learning part. And ML has been there for many years. Even the so latest Deep Learning (e.g. ANN) has been studied and used for over 30 years. There is not doubt that with the new processors, the machine learning models will be more comprehensive. But it is TOTALLY NOT A NEW THING.

because your I don’t know murdering our battery life and basically the updates are taking tons and tons of storage. Another thing is you’re taking features away that we want back like the home button and the headphone jack thing is I don’t know authors on iBook you take all the money and give them basically three dollars, another thing is I don’t know you’re making your cheap materials for phones and you’re making stuff that doesn’t last a long time. Another thing is I don’t know you guys don’t listen to your customers anymore. How about bringing back? I don’t know the flip phone without the touchscreen for teenagers when they start learning and using a phone even the keyboard how about I don’t know bring back iPods another thing is jacking up the prices for a piece of junk that wouldn’t even last for a couple years. Another thing putting useless things on here that take up so much storage and battery life how about allow customers to I don’t know fix their phones and give allow them to I don’t know go to a shop to , get a new battery put in another thing is slowing down phones and you don’t want to admit what you’re doing Another thing is that you think you you’re telling people that you care about the environment but you’re not you’re just wasting wasting more money like if I were you I would bring back the iPhone 6 Plus. And use it as a iPod how about bringing back iPhone 7 and making that an iPod There’s so much things that you could do, but you won’t do. It’s like all companies nowadays they care more about greed and using cheaper products and upping the prices for it.

Because a lot of the strategies the biggest US companies use - like buying out your competition just because you don't wanna compete with them - is illegal in Europe. I was gonna mention that it's harder for companies like Amazon can abuse their workers in Europe but you mentioned that (in a suss kinda way).

You people better figure out how to solve the 'hallucination' problem, FAST. Otherwise, this tech is doomed.

If you look at the movies intended for the LGBT community in pre-woke years, there really were no big money in it. Do you remember any blockbuster LGBT movies that dominated back in the 80s, 90s, 2000s? Right? Now with bigger budgets, woke movies still don’t make money. What a shocker.

Of course. The actual economic use of AI is minimal, outside some specific areas (design simulation) and lots of scams and "internet content" which is inherently without value. For this it eats enormous ressources and even more electricity. Ought to slap a few hundred % extra tax on it, to at least mitigate the damage caused.
