Nah, the new capes have value in it, Specially the 15th annivesary cape X) It's a symbol that you have witnessed the 15th birthday of minecraft, If minecraft is still alive 5 years or 10 years from now, The 15th birthday cape will be one of the og cape and it'll be unobtainable anymore for the new players/new generation of players.

still, it's ridiculous to spend hundreds of dollars you can't physically feel, and there's no point in buying a cape if you can earn it, makes yourself more pathetic than you are. There's some you can claim right now and make a collection out of it.

the mapmaker cape isn't available anymore, because they practically stopped doing map submissions on their subreddit.

No, I'm actually not kidding, they no longer have submissions up because they already have builders to build the maps for the realms, last time they accepted a submission was in 2020

@@Nitrune that is a blatant lie, submissions are up as of right now, plus you dont need to use the reddit submissions to get the cape, if you build maps with someone who is already accepted you will get the cape

Yeah, you can submit your map on subreddit, but nothing is gonna happen to it, at this rate it's just another way to try out other people's minigames maps and experience for free

Exactally my train of thought. Making capes more common deincentifies account hacking, and it gives everyone have something that would have been impossible for most casual players who would never have had a chance to attend a minecon. In my eyes, it's a win-win.

@@origamifolder2255 agreed. Minecraft is bringing back a little bit of its old identity with gifting players capes. Why not gift players capes anyways... the new players won't have these and in the future these capes will be unobtainable.

You have to remember that most of them play on bedrock. Most people that play actively on java have at least the migrator cape or the new 15th anniversary cape.

It's not just that, it's just players find capes boring because it's just a digital item from a game, and if they really wanted to, they could just obtain those capes around the time of the capes being made for those corresponding events excluding the vanilla cape because it was API automated. And even though the new capes seem like it has no meaning, truthfully they all do, and that's what makes the capes so special other than rarity, especially the 15th anniversary cape, it represents Minecraft's 15th birthday, and it has a clean design, and gives off a some sort of a split image of having a Minecon cape, and trust me, it'll get more and more better by the future. Because for now on Jeb is the one that's gonna make the designs, and he's also the one that made the Minecon capes designs and textures too. so we might get more Minecon like capes in the future, and also the Minecon 2019 event was just as the same as the conventions nowadays, so i think that's why we have Minecraft live now than Minecon live..
