Super cool video!! Just to add, the 02-09 Trailblazer and similar GMT-360 were Body on Frame. Also the competitor Ford Explorer 02-05 and following chassis are Body on Frame as well 👍👍.

Glad to see your making videos again. I watched allot of your videos a while back when I was looking into buying a tractor and doing some side work. I ended up getting me a 2038R but haven’t done a ton of side work yet cause I got a few projects at the house I work on during the weekends including rebuilding the top end of my wife’s car. Idk if I would have tackled a transmission. I bet that was rewarding when you got it running again! I don’t mind the changes you’ve discussed in your most recent videos. I enjoy life lessons and different perspectives. I also enjoy seeing someone willing to put in an honest days work. Keep doing what you’re doing Bud.

Just found your channel and subscribed. I enjoy your perspective and look forward to watching more of your videos. I ran a small junk removal dump trailer business on the side and had a ton of fun for about 18 months before my family started needing more of my attention, but I plan one day to have another small business when I have more time.

Thse most common no start issue with the 4.3s are, rotor and distributor cap, ignition coil, ignition module, crank or cam sensor, fuel pump, or even anti theft module,(rare). If no power to fuel pump, check relays and fuses and or wiring, another thing g is the oil pressure senor runs on the same circuit as the fuel pump prime, most common is the wire harness plug that goes to ignition coil, (not coil wire), it looses a ground or connection causing a no spark, no start situation.

Mines got a knock at high idle like 3k rpm doesn’t eat coolant or anything and has the power in the world just needs fresh injectors and a intake reseal but I think it has a bad lifter or stuck one

A little common sense will go a long ways!! I’ve had my tractor on three wheels and still running harder than a Deere. Yes it is a Deere 1025r!!

Honey Locust and Hawthorn trees have thorns that will take out tractor tires. I think Mesquite as well . . . but that doesn't grow around here in NY.

Love this video. Well done! Think I told you a while back but I'm doing basically the same thing as you. I'm retired Air Force and after managing in civilian industry for 6.5 years, I quit, bought a 1025r with a backhoe, tiller, box blade, brush hog, stump grinder, and a 7x14 dump trailer. I already had a v10 Excursion and a steel deck car hauler for years. I made a very deliberate decision to work for myself and do a lot harder work because like you said, it's honest work and you meet a lot of great people. I'd rather learn to live with less income and get out of that world. Thanks for the great video and conversation!

Great video. I have a 5x10 sure trac dump trailer I tow behind my 5.3 Tahoe. I wish I bought a bigger one to load the 1025r into. My trailer for the tractor is a 14’ deck, and like you said, 2 feet too short. Oh well, have to make it all work as prices have doubled since when purchased in 2019. Thanks for the videos and education Dash!

I alway Raise the bed of the Dump Trailer to change the angle of the ramps. Then lower when your almost off the ramps. TRY IT!
@TheLittleGreenTractor2 ай бұрын
Great idea! I’ll try that. Never thought about raising and lowering the dump bed for a second. Seems much easier than moving the whole truck to a lower spot. Thanks!

Hey Dash,good to see you again! I was thinking of you not long ago,wondering what you were up to. My 2038R is still serving me well and I added rear remotes and a third function to it. Just ordered a new hydraulic pump and loader cylinders from HydroPlus which will increase my lift capacity a lot Any way,as one of the old man(74) followers I'll be here for any and all your stuff and probably add my 2 cents worth. You be good man and more importantly be happy. I still like working in the dirt lol

Hey Jim! Great to hear you are doing well and still getting good use out of that 2038r! I just came up with my own solution to the hydros plus kit for my 1025r to get more speed out of my hydraulics. I may do a video on that later, still testing it out! Would love to get bigger cylinders eventually too for more lift capacity. Thanks again for always supporting my channel. You’ve always been one of my biggest supporters. I would love to hear more of your wisdom, so please chime in as you see fit. Be well my friend! -Dash

I remember when my grandfather had a Chevy Blazer and it brings back memories from when I was a younger kid but the engine unfortunately stopped running right possibly due to water in the cylinders. If this didn't happen though, I bet he would probably still be driving it today.

You really should buy or make heavy-duty grill guards for the front, so you don't destroy more than your paint job. Branches, sticks & other debris can easily go through the factory mesh.

Those trucks are full of design flaws that kill reliability. I had one once and it was the worst truck ive ever had. If you fix everything thats wrong, then it'll run great. Thats the same as any other lemon. If you like it and are willing to invest time and money to make it right, then good for you. Hope it serves you well and you enjoy it.

You’re definitely right, these have so many design flaws. Hopefully I’ve been able to address most of them for now. We’ll see haha. Fingers crossed!

I love this video. Totally relate to how we connect to vehicles in our past. I joined the Air Force in 96 (retired AF now) and went to Fairbanks, Alaska to my first base (Eielson AFB) in 97. The first car I bought there was a 1990 Dodge Daytona. It had the turbo charged 2.5L, and I got it with 33,000 miles on it. 5 speed. No one wanted that kind of car up there so I got a steal. I loved that thing! I would give anything to have hung onto it. I also really loved the 2000 Dodge Dakota 4 door that I had for years. 4x4 Sport with the 4.7L V-8. I wore that truck out....lol The truck I've done all my hauling with since I bought it in 2010 is a 2004 Ford Excursion 4x4 with the V-10. She's still going strong and can pull anything up to around 12,000 pounds. I'm keeping that vehicle forever. Thanks for the video!
@TheLittleGreenTractor5 ай бұрын
Awesome! My buddy in high school had a dodge dakota, had the 5.2 in it. He didn’t take the best care of it, but that was a great little truck. That 5 speed 2.5 turbo sounds like a blast! And with low miles, that sounds like it was a great deal. Thanks for sharing your memories with us, and thanks for your service to our country.

Don’t leave the parking break on or over tighten like my dealer did caused a $4,000 repair estimate to fix brakes. So I have a 1025 with no brakes and 3 months out of warranty and the dealer won’t do anything for me. John Deere says nothing they can do.I would not buy John Deere again.

Stepping to the tractor you won't ever get hit with flying debris if something goes wrong. You also will never loose a finger like if you can touch the wood and control at the same time. Nice setup

Hey Dash Thunder, thank you so much for showing the frontier root grapple. Your video got me to add the third function and grapple (yeah $3500). I just started getting back my land that hasnt really been managed in 20 years. It assisted in me cutting 100 feet 10 wide mature bamboo. It’s an amazing attachment that no one understand or knows about. I also do not fear when trees come down on my property I can clean up a 40 foot tree in 2 hours. When I need fire wood I just pickup 6 foot log sections and cut what I need. The root grapple also carries tools well like chain saws, pole saws, shovels, rakes, beer cooler. Thank you my guy I am gonna watch the log splitter video next.

Where do you connect you upper 3 point hitch to? Do you add a bolt to the upper hole? Or are you lifting it from the existing bushing? I saw another video from Piney Grove where he doesn't have the i-match, just setting up now and not sure if it will work correct with the flex if connected to the lower bushing. Thanks
