I think you were better off with a petrol vehicle at that point. It was nice that you experienced this but I don’t think it is optimal for traveling to Europe. Last thing you want to do is get stuck somewhere and lack the knowledge of the language and knowing the terrain. Enjoyed the video I think I would have rented a petrol or the ev in this case. Just have to understand liters instead of gallons and the euro to dollar exchange. Overall it isn’t that bad and you don’t have that extra anxiety of where is the next charger.

I rented a few times through UFODRIVE and they are good, but the last one I rented was a dud. The hatch did not close, the tires were almost like slicks, and of course no data service in the car. I wish they had an option to enable data for a small extra fee ( $10 ) it would make it more premium, and would feel more at-home for tesla owners but they don't You need to have internet access to activate it through the app.

We rented a model Y in Phoenix through Turo. Very similar experience as you had except we did have a physical key card. Opened the car via the Turo app. Cost was less than Hertz and didn't have to go to a counter. I would recommend it and would do it again.

Did you get used to the app’s limitations by the end of the trip? I feel like it would be really nice to be able to drive ‘your own’ car while on vacation.

Interesting. Did you consider renting a Tesla through Turo? With Turo you use your Tesla app at least in the US.

Just buy a spare tire and kit. Only easy solution. I have one in my 2023 model Y and I still have room for everyday rear storage.

You might like the cyber truck wheel on your car. I just put it in on my model Y. It’s safer than a Yoke.

A few questions: 1) How LONG will these fabric-based shades last? 2) This product only mentions UV light shielding or blocking - but what about all the infrared heat - how much is reflected back through the heat-absorbing glass? (give a percentage or before/after inside temperature comparison) 3) Will the magnets hold the M3 shields in place with windows down @ 75 mph? (Product comments are saying NO) 4) What's the R and U ratings of the "thermal" insulation? I'm most concerned about rejecting the summer's heat (item #2), since you can burn yourself on the glass without any shielding.

I'd rather just replace the glass with a solid roof panel with mounting points inside for a permanent, insulated headliner. Carbon fiber might be a good choice, in that you could leave it exposed, or paint / wrap to match the body.

I use Tailwind instead of MyQ. Tailwind isn’t integrated into the Tesla, but it does everything MyQ does, but without any service fees.

Almost bought one but then say it requires to have it plugged in all the time to the power port. Hate that. They need to have a splice wire where you can get power inside the console and not through the port

I had no idea about the 12V battery. I guess the wiring is 12V. I've dealt with those A23s, usually found in garage door openers. Here's a tip: often the drug store chains carry a wide assortment of specialty batteries, including the A23.

Nope-the wipes don’t last very long. What DOES WORK AND LASTS is STAINLESS STEEL CLEANER-yup the stuff for yr fridge. Yr welcome.
