I can only recommend that you don't use the "ready to pour" colors. Mix them yourself and find the right mixing ratio for the different techniques - this will satisfy you more in the long term. 👍 cheers 🥂

How do you know you failed? I think it turned out well, and anyway, I don't believe that you can make a mistake with this technique. Okay, sure, you can make mistakes in minor things, like how the paint is mixed and what it's mixed with, but it's like scrambled eggs; if the scrambled eggs don't turn out right, you're an alien. I don't mean to say that everyone can make beautiful creations with this technique, because you need imagination and skill to create something beautiful. But there is nothing wrong with your creation! It is very beautiful and special!

@@malachi.creates Oh, then I apologize, it is very true that what you write is an end result of what you wanted to get out of your creation, and you are the only one who can really see where you wanted to take this specialness. Why not use floetrol or another pouring medium? Like GAC 800 or liquitex pouring medium? There are so many to choose from. You can even use watered down Elmer’s glue to get great cells and save cash if you don’t want to spend too much on a pouring medium. It will also help save paint. You will use so much less paint with a pouring medium. You can create beautiful cells with different pouring mediums and you don’t have to wash or scrub your painting after to get all of the silicone off before varnishing it or a resin top coat. Your base is so thick. When it dries it doesn’t crack or craze? It must take ages for that to completely dry. How long does it normally take to dry?
@malachi.creates19 күн бұрын
I'm going to try so many things, and I'll definitely make a video on cheaper ideas. I came across Silicon and just playing with it. I got told WD40 is great, too, so I'll do more content with these options. So far I haven't had any cracking other than when I did a second pour over one I didn't like but made a beautiful golden crack that really made the piece. It takes about 2 days to fully dry and so far I haven't done a top coat, but I will do a resin coat for some of these pieces. Pouring is brand new to me, and I'll definitely take all the advice yo create more beautiful work. Appreciate your comment 🙏

@@malachi.creates good luck hun. Look forward to watching your journey as you learn and grow in your art. 😁
@lindsayhuff881319 күн бұрын
@@malachi.createsWD40 has to be scrubbed off of the painting after as well. You don’t need that stuff to make cells. You are going to find better ways. More masterful ways then little hacks that just makes things harder in the long run. If you don’t completely scrub that oil off of the painting before varnishing or putting on resin, it will ruin the resin and leave spots that are void. If you buy Australian floetrol online you can use that in one of your colors of paint and create cells. Then use other or less expensive pouring mediums for the other colors!
