Yes ted that coil needs to go especially that evap coil question is are you just replacing the ac coil and condenser with a trane or are you replacing the Rheem gas furnace too with a trane as well but to me if the gas furnace does not have issues even though I dislike Rheem I would probably not replace that yet unless the customer insists I look forward to a follow up video and Ted I hope you are stocked up on 410 a before the prices shoot up that will be your new gold like your r 22 stockpile.

What's your opinion on new Rheem equipment. A nice fellow from a Rheem distributor met me for lunch a couple weeks ago, wants me to sell Rheem. I like their water heaters I got one from them, seemed ok. Also grabbed 5 cans of 410A they were able to beat local prices by a little bit. Not much, but a dollar saved here and there helps in the long run :D So far I for what's available in my area, I've been using Goodman/Amana for stuff that doesn't need something fancy, and American Standard for like nicer houses etc. Tried a few Ducane installs those weren't too bad, but I think I might have a 2 year old Ducane system that looks like might be a leaker. If so, that'll be the end of that for me, I don't like leakers... Pain in the butt to rip out and replace a coil, and the companies don't want pay for the extra labor and lost gas.

I tell ya what Ted you can't fix stupid. You just have to let them keep believing their team is better.

they were using carbon dioxide in Europe 10 years ago. problem with that is DuPont will not make enough money selling CO2, so here in good old USA we get some propane type refrigerant and DuPont just keeps getting richer.

I have a 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid that has the A/C Compressor run by the 450 volt battery and uses R-1234yf. It is the best A/C I have ever had in a car, and at 68 years old I've had a few. I have seen the price of it and it is crazy expensive.

I am very much in agreement, especially with regard to the refrigerant circuit. It's just tempting fate to gauge up on an older system when it is otherwise performing reasonably. With regard to the whole R-32 flammable refrigerant thing, you're already using it -- it's part of the R-410A formulation.

Not a fan of the upcoming A2L laws either. Working with gas heat and it’s flammability hazards but flaming heat pumps are a whole new ball game. And all the new tools needed to service things

I hope Ted you are stocking up on plenty of 410 a before the price shoots up. And Ted I hate a2ls too me and my best friend were discussing that ohh what could go wrong with a, small amount of propane in the refrigerent even with a, so called leak shutoff sensor like maybe it will blow up your house or something seems like a scheme cooked up by the fossil fual industry. So they can keep fracking and drilling for natural gas since people nowadays like me want freedom from the corrupt utility companies and gas companies and like the idea of solar batteries wind turbines and even hybrid and electric vehicles heck even hydrogen powered vehicles if that means personal freedom And I can control ridiculous amounts in spikes in costs. Just my thoughts and Ted I know she is insistent on a new system but you need to tell her if you replace it before it is really dead she will have more problems with a newer system than with the r 22 system you worked on today as those old trane Lennox York pre 2005 carrier units are like old scholl classic chevy or Ford mustangs. Meaning a real antique car. Or like gold treasure.
