@@The_OffGridFamily at the moment we have 2 allotments and the back garden. But looking to buy something similar to you in Devon... you know it's a balance between more getting more land and getting better land. We have seen a wonderful one with bards etc with 3.5 acres!

Completely get what you mean. Ours was just a field when Fraser bought it and the soil was terrible. It’s taken a lot of work to get to this point. The land in Devon sounds great 😊👍

Lots of work getting accomplished. The platform by the pond looks fantastic. There is a guy in the United States (sorry I can't recall his channel name) that heats his polytunnel with the system that you are talking about. All his fans draw heat through the tubes are powered by solar panels which he keeps on top of the woodchip heap. His heap is tarped and he has a metal rod going down the center. I don't think his channel is big and if you do a YT search he will come up I'm sure. I will see if I can find him for you as his already done loads of experiments that would save your money and time most likely 🙂(Edit........I found his channel here: www.youtube.com/@Earthdwellershomestead)

In Australia they don't call them pond's they call them dams. Don't know quite why but the intent is the same. Ours leaks badly because a previous owner allowed trees to grow on the wall. Have considered drilling a well ?

What they discovered is also true at Grid level. The cost in batteries or extra Solar / Wind to cater for the worst 30 days of the year is NOT worth paying. The answer is a back up generator. This is far cheaper and your grid will still be 80-90%+ Renewables but it will also be cost effective and that matters. In the Grid it matters because Stage 2 of the Green revolution is electrifying transport and trying to do that on high cost electricity is a loser. By not being purist about CO2 (ie upto 20% max) we hugely lower costs of building a renewable grid.

I do not know much about Pylontech but I think you can only put 6 batteries on one bank. You can split the batteries. 4 on one bank and 3 on the other bank. There are some youtube videos about that. I hope this help you

Nasturtiums add lots of colour and grow in any kind of soil, only thing is once you plant them you might not be able to get rid of them. They are annuals but they tend to self seed. It's my first year growing them but I really love them already. 😊 I planted some wildflower seeds too and none of mine grew either but I have tons of Nasturtiums.

In the uk we aren't even aloud to hunt for sustenance, and forget going hunting with dogs, the climate nature radicals will call you a murderer a torturer of animals effect. It's my right as a human to hunt and kill my own food, on land or sea. But society and those woke people think I'm a problem, they will force me by law to bow to their way of living. You dont see me forcing anyone to live as I see fit, do you!

I grew up on a small holding and had to do jobs from around the age of 8 until I left home. Sometimes I hated it (cold wet and muddy) sometimes I loved it (sunny building tree houses and camps) but at 56 I am now doing my best to get back to it. Keeping the kids involved will be the best thing for them I think, they will go through stages but nothing in this world is as good as being with people who love you doing things for yourselves on your land.

There was a few days in may that were warmish and 3 days in june . Now at end of june its back to very cool rain fall has not been anything slightly below average only in my 2 greenhouses and 3 big poly tunnels have been decent but hay and silage has been fine

4:10 “ Really it looks like a shantytown for vegetables “😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 lol. Ps I did exactly the same with the wild flower seeds. and none have shown… loads of rabbits too….pps just heard your last statement about build in the garden together … spot on. Have you read the classic book Candide by French writers Voltaire write. Back in 1759. If you have not read it You could read the summary on the Internet, About a tomato, a journey around the world, ending up with a very poignant and significant conclusion with the most relevant point the very last line of the book. It made me think of you guys.
