I don't think a headlamp needs a 45 different modes. No flashing, no sos. Low, med, and bright is all that is needed. I'm not a fan of proprietary charging dongles either. Just use USB-C. Everyone has several. I do like that it has a nice large battery and that it is removable so you can have a fully charged one on hand if needed.

9:10 About 21 years ago I ran off the road in a snow storm and hit a tree totaling my car. Of the dozen or more people that drove by zero of them stopped. In shock I walked bare foot to the nearest house 1/2 a mile away and they let me in their living room asked me to lie down and called the cops and ambulance for me. I guess Texas is different to some parts of Connecticut. 👀
@CarpeSus15 күн бұрын
Wow! About 36 years ago, I fell asleep during rainy weather on I-35 and drifted off the road into the woods where I hit a tree head-on at 65 mph (cruise control speed). Several people saw me go and some of them stopped. I was beaten and bruised, but in decent shape, all things considered. Now, I could have been injured much worse and where I stopped was totally hidden from the road. I was 20 miles from the nearest town. If that was the case, that might have been it for me, but I think they had called 911 before they even found me. I can't say enough good things about good people.

The shots pretty well show the optic performance of the clip-on as well as how well the LRF works when properly set up. (update 'conditions, cross-wind, etc per hunt) btw, I agree that we gotta get Brian a thermal drone for finding downed game if not for spotting too, but how we?
@CarpeSus18 күн бұрын
What I need is experience with a person with a thermal drone...
@johncmitchell494122 күн бұрын
Setting up the LRF's conditions/inputs properly for the shoot, wind/direction, temp, alt, barometer. 👍 I really like that the sight-in and corrected reticles are both shown so clearly. btw, my first thermal is a 640 and my second (same maker) is a 384. Can't really see a difference in the eyebox when I'm testing or afield.

@qualityfun830421 күн бұрын
Also wanted to know? Can’t see the purpose of shooting them!?
@CarpeSus18 күн бұрын
Armadillos in Texas are considered to be a naturally invasive species. These are the nine-banded armadillos (Dasypus mexicanus (formerly D. novemcinctus mexicanus) is not a protected species and are considered to be a pest. I only hunt them on properties where the landowners want them gone. The same holds for coyotes and skunks. The only animals we kill on the property I own are hogs and beaver.

I understand hunting hogs and coyotes, but why beavers? Just personal curiosity
@CarpeSus18 күн бұрын
All of the animals I hunt for myself or landowners are animals considered to be pests or a threat by the particular landowner. This means I shoot only specific problem species for any given property and things vary between properties. For example, I don't hunt coyotes or armadillos on my own property, but I hunt them for others that consider them to be pests. Beaver are a wonderful little animal, quite beneficial to the environment, so long as you don't want your local environment changed. The reason I shoot beaver is mainly due to flooding that they cause. However, on my property, they take trees along the creek that I don't want taken down. They will also come up >100 yards and take fruit trees from the yard around my house. In the above video, the beaver keep trying to dam the overflow drain (prevents the lake from getting too high and having to use the emergency spillway which then will require dozer work afterward to repair damages to the spillway caused by erosion).
