What about in sprints? Do we have to hold it like for the first 2 strokes then bubble on the 3rd then 4th breath? Or just bubble for the whole time?

The first time I watched this video, I told myself I had to try this one. When I got the chance to be in a swimming pool I tried it immediately and I made a pretty big progress 😅. It is so much fun when you know how to do things properly. Lasting a little longer underwater is still hard for me though can you give a tutorial for that? Also I wanna learn how to float in deep pools.

It amazes me the primal fear of breathing under water induces even amongst great swimmers. It's incredibly humbling for them, almost like starting again, reexperiencing that fear. For instance, how to casually blow air back out of the snorkel without panic. More importantly to purposely do it after a flip turn so training is comfortable and uninterrupted.a

Ok great I know how to breathe in with this video but not how to exhale….. which is also vital in maintaining cadence
@uthmanshareef32082 күн бұрын
Ahhh that's all relative...depending on your speed btwn "too early and on time". Some needs more air than others. As long as it doesn't jack up your rhythm. No dif in resistance in top 2

I realised watching this video how breathing disrupts streamlining and slows your motion. You can see the additional bow wave that forms against the swimmers head on breathing, even with a minimal head turn. So it would pay to train your body to work on less breathes per cycle eg breath every 5 arm strokes, say. It would take some lung training and body conditioning for long distance swimming, but your body is nothing if not adaptive!

Doing this now for 5 months at age 44 and finally getting the hang of it. Most important for me was to keep one goggle under water when inhaling (don’t look to the ceiling which will ruin your balance, drain your energy and hurt your neck).
