I never seen your channel before. This video is 6 years old. I'm starting my build on my 18650 diy powerwall. I'm doing this on a very cheap budget. Most of my cells are free. What was the out come on your diy powerwall?

Anyway I can send new pack I built to you in order to get good welds ?
@caseymuni4097 Жыл бұрын
You may have some sells that have excessive internal drain. Bms will balance if sells are closely matched. I build the LI-ion battery substitute for my Worx 36v mower as well but 10s4p -6AH. Good for 30-40min of mowing.

Hi ! Incredible work dude. How would you output a constant 14v out of it with a decent amperage (100a)?

Very good video. But I strongly disagree about soldering to the batteries. the heat will damage the cells. Always spot weld, it is the safest method.

I had bought 300watt, and 90watt non worked until I stumbled on your video. I bought a cheap 100watt and it worked like magic. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Thank you man! This was really helpful!😎✨🙏👍 I have 80 x 18650 batteries, a 24v MPPT & a 24v Pure sine wave inverter... Any recommendations for building multiple 24v packs to use to charge laptops, phones, maybe a lamp...or a kettle? I thought I could have a bunch charging by solar while I use the others?

Just wondering what happened to you. I know that the videos may not be the biggest for views. I just want to say that your content has been helpful for battery packs. It's a great source of knowledge.

Ok Frank I built a 4s 20p and only half of the battery discharges, I cannot figure out why. Yes I used 18650 cells, I only charge it with a balance charger, and have been using a cell balancer but no bums. My inverter reads 15 volts and works fine but only have discharges. Would a bms fix this. ????

At 3:53 you have your watch clasp dangerously close to shorting out on the batteries. NO jewelry when working on these projects please.

This battery does not have 1346 watts of energy. Here is the correct calculation; There are 40 x 18650s. Each has around 2.5 ah at 3.6 volts. (2.5 x 3.6) x 40 = 360 watt battery.

I realize that I am a little late to this party, but decided to undertake the same conversion of my B&D mower. Now, 3 years later, is your battery still working out for you? Are you using the charger that came with the unit? Great project, thanks for leading the way!

Thank you so much for this video! I'm in the process of gathering up all the goodies to build my own portable power bank, I'll be doing a 4s 30p pack. This will be very helpful in my build. I'm hoping to be able to run my trolling motor battery off of this pack. If I have to, I can build a another battery pack to go inside of this portable power pack, provided that there's enough room. Which I think there will be. I just hope I can provide the 55 amp draw that my trolling motor will need.

Just found you tonight, Frank. Have watched a number of your vids. I am just starting my solar/lithium adventure. You are a great teacher. I can't understand why you don't have a much higher subscribe rate -I have done so, to say thanks. PS. your solar power pack is probably the best design I have seen. And I've watched a few. Just wish I could get a decent supply (mAhs) of used 18650s, where I live :-sigh
