Nope. You should have no problem getting this on as a carry on just obviously too big to be a “personal item”

Why are people carrying laptops around on vacation with all the power phones have these days? The same goes with dual mesh bottle holders. In a crowded market I feel like there's a way to stand out by scrapping these 2 standards and forcing innovation.

Fair on both accounts! I never used the laptop sleeve during my standard day trips…. But I had a large section of my trip where I was on trains and I wanted access to my laptop without opening my main travel backpack compartment… This was perfect for that. Regarding the pockets this was perfect for my water bottle and my daughters. Even locals seemed to carry bottles but I get your point. I have bags with zippered water bottle compartments, that’s always an option.

Yes, you will need this, at least for visiting Japan and UK. IDP application is just about $10 in my home country, but I found out it is $20 in the US loool One good thing is now I know what to fill in the permit's effective date in the US with AAA. It was a little confusing because it is not definable in my home country, the date you walk into the office for application is the effective date, thanks for showing us that part

I like the bag. As far as RFID protection, if you secure your car fob in the bag, and press the buttons and your car responds, then the RFID protection is a farce claim.

Only thing that seems to be missing for me is anti-slash construction / material. For all the other focus on security, that seems to be a miss that a few other bags have covered. Guess they gotta keep costs down somehow though.

Halfday doesn’t. After you buy one you can sign up for one. They actually ignore me when I ask them questions😅 If you watch my Moderne Gentleman review you’ll see that I prefer their bag…and they give far lower bonuses. In full transparency I lost a lot of money last year doing these reviews which is ok…my day job paid the bills…and this…travel related is my passion project. But to your point beware…a lot of folks will lead you astray for a couple of bucks!

@@theocdtraveler great for a casual trip, not so business friendly. Compressing it can be tricky, but once you learn tricks - like boxing it out as much as possible, fitting way more than normal is totally possible. I did 5 days in Malaga with no issues. Not a lot of heavy clothing needed, though ;)

I know you did a review with halfday vs moderne gentlemen but how does the premium halfday 45L bag amount to the moderne gentlemen?

I'm conflicted. I gave the original Halfday a 4.4, the Premium Halfday a 4.6 and the Moderne Gentleman a 4.7. It comes down to your preference in the shoe compartment....overall the Premium Halfday is the best looking, best quality, and the best bet. The Moderne Gentleman has a much better shoe compartment but their zippers (which I hear they're improving) are not great. I would order the Premium Halfday and see how you like it...they have an easy return process according to their website so try it out!

It was oddly only 14 lbs! So about 12 lbs on top of the two pound bag. My bags always push that limit and I’m nervous but the ladies have it a little easier with dresses, etc.

Very cool, I travel /fly weekly and carry a suit with me, I already use an old school garment bag from Eddie Bauer..I wear a size 13 so that doesn't sound like it works for me if you struggled with a sizee 11. I do like the slot on the back for hooking it onto your roller bag..but I think I'll pass great review!

Thanks for watching and commenting! I felt better with this bag for sure. On the original Halfday they said it would hold up to a 13 and I struggled. I think I let that bias from the original bag sink in a little…this one was much improved but I think you could still struggle with a shoe that size. Check out the original Moderne Gentleman bag. That dedicated shoe compartment is awesome!

You definitely need this in Southeast Asia, for example Thailand, Vietnam, Laos. Without it, you will get some minor fines, but more importantly, if you get in an accident, you were driving without a license, and your insurance may refuse to pay out.
