Hi Timothy. Thanks for watching and asking - the answer is no I don’t sell these brackets. First because they are so easy to make I can’t imagine being paid for them. And secondly because I am now on the road. Currently travelling in Prince Edward Island - Canada. Without tools (or a good internet connection). If you visit my channel you’ll find several videos that explain a step by step method to building. They’ve been copied all over the world. Be well and let me know know how you make out.

No jig needed and no angle grinder needed. Aluminium is a soft metal, so you can use your normal wood saws to cut them the same way. But I do swish out the blades anyhow for metal blades. I have these things on my Iveco van also. You idea is perfect. Thanx.

Please make sure that the wire is sized properly for the 200A that the inverter is capable of drawing and you have fused it for. Your wire size should always be sized for or larger than you have it fused for, this includes all wire from the batteries to the inverter. Love your video 🙂

Why can't you pull the bench out and hook up a new seat?
@VanOfAction
@VanOfAction Ай бұрын
Hi @IVolutionI - thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Honestly that's exactly what I thought when I bought the van. Not that I had any choice at the time - this was the only van I could find available in Ontario Canada that week and we were moving to BC. Taking out the bench is not problem, and fooling the computer is easy too. The challenge is finding a single seat to put in. The Dodge corporation won't sell a new single seat for a van that has a bench because of the air bag computer. Finding a salvaged one with an intact airbag is almost impossible (totally impossible at the time). And one out of wreck that had it's airbag deployed and seat belt tensioner released was way too involved to try and make right. I have been keeping my eyes open ever since and if a single came available I'd be all over it !!!! Hope you'll join the community and stop back ............ Dave

@VanOfAction I also have a similar situation bought only van I could find which had a bench seat now trying to put more seat in and turn passenger seat into a single. I was under the understanding that I could either purchase a after market seat or find one. So I guess that where I'm confused, why wouldn't an after market seat work to hook up? Thanks!
@VanOfAction
@VanOfAction Ай бұрын
@@IVolutionI I'm not sure where you are. But all seats have to be tested and approved by the governing bodies for each country they are being used in - or the insurance will not be valid. I'm in Canada and I cannot find an aftermarket seat that has a side air bag that has gone through the approval process. In the states there is a company in Arizona that manufactures seats that meet the US standards ... discountvantruck.com/product-category/promaster/promaster-captains-chairs/ ... we have been talking about going that route if no options come around.

In my view, wool is nowhere near as good an insulation method as closed celll foam, which acts as not only an excellent heat/cold insulator and noise insulator, but also eliminates the need for the stick-on sound deadening material, and acts as a very effective moisture barrier (moisture comes from INSIDE the van - our breath and cooking vapors and showers are primary moisture contributors here), and it stiffens and strengthens the entire van structure. Messy and expensive and care need to be taken about access to wires/plumbing etc as necessary, YES, but so worth it in the end result!

Thanks for the video! I just installed the same inverter in my trailer. In your video at about 8:50, you hoist the inverter up to its mounting position, come in with the socket and drill to fix the upper mounting bolts, and then you fail to get a connection with the socket to the bolt. The picture fades out, and I hear you say, huh...! That was EXACTLY my experience. They designed the mounting holes too far under the inverter housing to get a straight shot with even a screwdriver, much less a socket and wrench. I ended up using Phillips screws and a screwdriver angled in to secure the inverter in position. Really poor design. I had to contact Renogy with a question, and the reply came back as a mixture of English as a second language and cut-and-paste technical text. I never did get a coherent response.

You might want to check your information here. I believe the Mppt charger you show here has a Max. Solar Input Voltage : 50V, not 12V as stated. For most people, this would mean they can wire in series (depending on the Voc of their panels, and how many they are installing) meaning thinner wires (less amps) to run into the van.
@VanOfAction
@VanOfAction 4 ай бұрын
hi @mrurga35 .. thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I am certain that I stated the wiring correctly. The maximum input voltage is 12V - I assume that's because the controller is also capable of drawing power from the van battery simultaneously (which would be coming in at 12 volt) and keeping the inputs the same makes the most sense. Therefore connecting the panels in parallel is absolutely necessary or you would fry the controller. I found this part of the van build to be confusing and I was very careful with my research. The controller is rated at 50 AMPS -maybe that is impacting your thoughts. In any event I do appreciate you asking, it's in the conversation we all learn ...... Hope you'll stop back ....... Dave
