Just got back from a 2000+ Km trip over 4 days into the Australian Outback. Both our bikes are fitted with Legends, Revo Arch on one (CVO RG) and Revo A (RGS) on the other. If anywhere requires good suspension, it's the Aussie Outback. The Legends performed flawlessly, and adjustment is so easy I don't know why anyone would compromise with 'that other brand.' Can't praise the Legends enough.

Hello, there is absolutely a fix for this. If the Trike is lower in the back, it should be corrected as this would be part of the issue. Trikes tend to sit low in the back from the factory and if you add two people this will make the ride even worse. If you have suspension other than stock on the Trike, we recommend having the suspension sag set correctly. It could be that the shocks are bottoming out and causing the bouncing or the shocks could be too stiff and making the ride bouncy. IF the bike has Legend Suspensions on it then please email [email protected] and let them know what you are experiencing, and they will help correct it. If you do not have our suspension, you can still email them, and they would be happy to diagnose your issue and let you know how to correct it for good.

Hello Please reach out to [email protected] and let them know what you have going on and they would be happy to help you get fixed up. If you are hitting large bumps and feeling that kind of ride they may not be setup correctly on suspension sag. please let them know this as well so they can give you directions to correct this or it will cause a poor ride and damage to the suspension.

@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 7 күн бұрын
Hey there, we would recommend lubricating the threads on the shocks if you are finding them hard to turn. any silicone-based lubrication should do the trick, we use WD-40 specialist series with PTFE in it and it makes them buttery to turn them. Lubricating shocks is one of the only basic maintenances we recommend as you can pick up things like dust and road grime and if they get in the threads, it can make them harder to turn. so, keep them clean and it will help the shocks and seals last longer.

Hey there, if while solo you find the ride to be too firm because it is setup for two people, we suggest taking some of the turns of preload out of the springs, depending on your length of shocks you will want to reset the suspension sag, and we have How To videos on this. There is generally a happy medium to be had where you can support your passenger and still be happy solo. It just takes a little adjusting to see where you like it best.

@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 29 күн бұрын
Hello, With 14" Rear shocks we really only recommend their use with 2+ front suspension to even the bike out so you are not too tall in the rear. In terms of plug n play, new longer than stock fork tubes are required. recommended tube length is 26.25" Overall length. Depending on model you might also need to replace the lower oil lock pieces, 1 quart of fork oil will cover both sides and we recommend replacing the bushings and seals while you have everything apart. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email [email protected] and we would be more than happy to help.

I currently have Legend cartridges 0414-0516 installed on my 2018 Road Glide FLTRX. It lowered my front suspension about 3/4 of an inch. The impact was the following 1) I have to lean my bike to the right to deploy the jiffy stand; and 2) the front cylinder header pipe heat shield rubs the ground if lean to the right aggressively during right turns leaning the bike during cone work. This did not happen with the OEM front suspension. However, l love the increased stability lack of front end nose dive when breaking. Question, will the Legend comfort cartridges return the bike to OEM/Stock ride height for the front, but maintain the increased stability and lack of front end nose dive? Thank you

I would like to know what Legend has to say about this.
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions Ай бұрын
Hello, Thank you for your business and comment. The 0414-0516 is a factory length and factory travel suspension. However, on this model we did use a different suspension sag range and you are spot on as the suspension sag range is 3-4"to 1" lower. This changes where the bike sits in the travel of the suspension for different upward and downward travel on that model. It still retained the 4.3" of suspension travel just sat in a different range than stock. It is not common to hear that you needed to shift the bike to the right to deploy your jiffy stand but during slow speed extreme leaning or high-speed extreme leaning pegs or heat shields can scrape, in our experience and often the customers experience, we ask them to audit their speed while performing the higher sleep or lower speed maneuvers and often reported back with, " well I was going 20-30 MPH faster in the corner making me learn further over to account for it. Or that they felt stable and confident enough to scrape the heat shield and it happens know where it did not before because they did not push the bike to those limits. Now, in the spirit of giving people what they want, as we do. It was requested that we lighted up the performance level of our front suspension, as well as reduce the amount of suspension sag we use in our system. So, we went back to the drawing board and completely refined and changed internals to smooth out the system even more. We switched to an internal spring guide inside the spring to further quiet down operation of the system. We also developed a new spring rate for both the Axeo Performance and the Axeo Comfort. The spring is longer than previous models and lighter as well. The Axeo Performance is for those who prioritize the Performance side of riding and the Axeo Comfort for those who prioritize all day Comfort. Both New Axeo models continue to hold strong on our base core values of a more confident, more stable, less front-end dive and safer front suspension. The spring rate change on BOTH models is designed to retain OEM ride heights. within the reason of every bike is a little different, but you should see both Comfort and Performance models keeping you at OEM height. Comfort Axeo does not mean you do not get performance and handling and better agility; it simply means the Performance has been dialed back a pinch to prioritize all day Comfort. Performance Axeo, still offers comfort and is far better than stock, but if you have a built bike and tend to rip it hard and Comfort is not as much of a priority then this would be your kit. BOTH the Axeo Performance and Comfort are less aggressive in terms of firm Performance than the 0414-0516 Axeo High Performance, this again was at the request of our largest poled feedback. Both new kits are smoother and more refined as well. The adjustment of the preload has a new measuring system as well based on a distance measurement instead of turns. We hope this gives you the answer to your questions, we would be more than happy to further expand on any details or answer any of your questions you might have. How about on a roadside special 2021 I wanted to get the dual tab performance exhaust can I clear it with the 14s on the rear? Or I’d have to go a short single exhaust?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions Ай бұрын
Hello, For Touring models looking to run 14" shocks you would generally need the short single pipe that stops before the axle nut to ensure 14" shocks can hit full extension without contact. for anything other exhaust setups, we would recommend the 13". When running 14" shocks we only recommend 2+ front suspension as well, so just something else to consider. If you are not installing or planning to install a longer front suspension as well, then sticking with the 13" is your best bet. 13" Revo-ARC =3-1/2" of travel 14" Revo-ARC =4" of travel. We hope this answers your questions and if you need any further assistance, please feel free to use our live chat on Legendsuspensions.com or please email us directly at [email protected]

Hello, Congratulations on the NEW machine!! We do offer a full list of fitments on the 2024 Tri-Glide models from front suspension, AIR or Coil Rear shocks and Lift Brackets. We have a specific shock for this machine that is 13.6" long and it essentially has the lift bracket built into it already, so you are not getting 13" shocks then paying extra for the lift bracket. You can just go with longer shocks from the get-go. Out Axeo front suspension matched any of those setups perfectly and Customers LOVE them. If you want to try lift brackets, and then decide you want shocks you want 13" shocks. If you decide you want the lift and shocks right away, then go with 13.6" shocks to get it all in one and save some money. Either rear option works perfect with our Standard height front end for the Tri-Glide. @LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions Ай бұрын
Hey there, Spring rate and front suspension recommendations would depend a lot on the kind of bike you are on. Assuming since you commented on a Softail shock video that you have a Softail, if you have an FLST Softail then we would recommend the Standard Duty Spring on something like the Revo-A ST for your bike, you will be able to firm those up to your liking if you are riding aggressive. Also, if you are on the FLST then the Standard height Axeo would be great to pair with those rear shocks. If you're on a different bike all together, we have a fitment guide on our website that you can punch your bike into and see all the options. We also have a Live Chat on our website that goes directly to Customer Service, or please email us [email protected] and we would be more than happy to help you pick out the perfect option for you.

So basically there is no risk to set the Revo A at “1” and not having rebound at all? Some people were saying to me it works like pogo stick then and feels like there is no rebound or broken shock. I don’t believe that, because I personally set it at “1” and really, really like the ride. I’m wondering how would you rate the stock touring front fork is set in your terms of rebound setting? Thank you for amazing product!
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 2 ай бұрын
Hello, Good questions, when the suspension sag is set correctly for your weight range you are telling the shocks to use all of its travel and prevent bottoming out. Some road conditions or areas may require someone to run less than 1" of suspension sag as bigger bumps may need to be tuned out compared to someone who lives in an area like Florida where the roads are flat and smooth. Once this is set the rebound preference is the rider's choice depending on how they want the bike to ride. setting 1 on the rebound might not be ideal for everyone as the lower the rebound setting the faster the shock will rebound, so if you live in a very bumpy area and hit bumps constantly, then your rebound is fast it can accentuate the bumps, and give a bouncy ride and you may want to run a higher number (slower rebound) to tune this feel out. On the flip side if your weight range requires a lot of preload to reach your sag range this will cause more stored spring tension during compression and the slower rebound is required more often, otherwise you get a tight spring with a lot of tension and the fast rebound and you could end up with a bouncy ride as well. It is important to ride all the settings and see how they all work for the rider. In the end, if you enjoy the ride and it feels the best to you, then setting 1 is just fine as long as you are happy and it is not causing you issues. On your second question as to a comparison guess on factory front suspension rebound. OEM front suspension is super soft on compression and tends to blow right through bumps and the rebound is super fast as well. If setting 1 on the back of our shock was a 1 TO 1 meaning as fast as it compresses it rebounds at that same speed, call it equal or opposite reaction, stock OE front suspension would be like setting .50 about half of setting 1 in our opinion.

Hello, while chrome is slick looking, we have gotten away from chrome finishes on shocks as they just do not hold up so well over time and with the shocks coming with a lifetime warranty, they just degrade too much over time. We discontinued chrome on AIR shocks over 5 years ago due to this as well as chroming needing to be sent out of state and slowing production times. It is slick, but a total hassle unfortunately.

Great video I just put a set of these Revo A’s on my 2019 Street glide. It helps a lot to understand adjustments. I do have one question though. In the instruction manual It says to torque hardware to 50 ft lbs. I’ve had people tell me to do Harley torque spec 63-70 ft lbs. which is best torque value for these shocks?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for your business. Great question. Stock Spec is 63-70 however, that is with stock solid mounted shocks that have bushings. Our shocks use spherical bearings at the mount points, and we include a billet aluminum spacer, we call out 50lbft of torque because if you torque them too tight you will press the inner race of the metal bearing into the spacer and cause it to dish and this can lock the shocks in place which is bad, you want our shocks to still pivot on the bearings after you install them, so they can move freely and prevent suspension binds cause by rigid mounted shocks. If you have any additional questions about this, please feel free to email [email protected] and we would be more than happy to help.

Hey there- On the '08 Roadster you would only want to use Axeo Kit 0414-0547 39mm TS kit. This will require 26.25" fork tubes. We do not offer those tubes on our website but there are many fork tube brands who do offer them. CCE, Pro1 few others. Air-shocks are the KEY to setting-up a TRI-GLIDE & its poor suspension & handling issues, and will replace these plates from LEGENDS. But, you must be willing to pay close attention to the PSI in your system as you ride to keep it at the best performance & safe level. At any rate, the BEST rear suspension is a set of quality coil-overs for the rear of any HD touring scooter. HANDS DOWN !

good question, one shock can be removed to access it. OR you can install a plug that is threaded in the middle and install a nipple with a hose and plug this way when you need to change fluid you can just grab the hose, remove the plug and drain it that way without removing anything. Very simple to build.

Hello, Yes, you can, but you would have pretty firm shocks, people do ride with them pumped up quite a bit if they are going to ride more aggressive and they are looking to get some extra height out of the bike or just want a good firm ride for hitting corners. Nice thing is as soon as you are done, you just release some air quick, and you are back to your normal riding.

Hello, For the most accurate setting of sag, we do recommend you both be on the bike with whatever gear you tend to ride with and in your normal riding gear. This will give an accurate weight to go off. From the normal 13" length you want the shocks to measure right about 12-1/4" to 12" with you both on the bike stated above. This will tell the suspension how much weight you added and to use all the travel and keep you from bottoming out. From there you simply select a rebound setting you like most (we recommend trying them all) and boom you're good to go. If you do not know where to start with rebound, we recommend starting with setting (3) on both shocks. Then go straight to (6) and then straight to (1) this will show you what is actually changing and will help you in selecting what ride you like best. IF you have ANY questions at all we recommend emailing [email protected] and our techs can help. We agree, 2Lane and the Ornery Crew are all Aces!

I upgraded my RG3 with Legends suspension front and rear, , had the rear shocks adjusted. Still sucks, especially over Rail road tracks 😡

Thank you for your business, something sounds very wrong, that thing should be like riding on clouds over stock, have you tried contacting our customer service department? we recommend you email [email protected] or please use our live chat Monday-Thursday to chat with a tech. It is more than likely just a matter of setting it up correctly for you and your preference.

I don’t ever ride 2 up, I just want the ability to lower a bit, and when I’m riding, I want it to be like I’m on a cloud when I’m on the interstate. My worry about getting a Legend air suspension is that it would be too soft and affect performance when I’m going harder on the bike. I just have no experience in this area. I welcome feedback as to whether you guys recommend coil or air for my situation. ( bike is a 2021 Harley Fat Bob)

Hello- Great question and understandable concern, we can assure you that from the most casual riding to the most aggressive riding the AIR suspension will go softer than you want and absolutely rock-hard firmer than you'd want and in somewhere in the middle you will find your happy medium. That is the beauty of AIR suspension, you get low when you need, you get soft when you need, you get firm when you need, and it's all done with the simple push of a button on the fly while riding. If you have the need or desire to be able to lower the bike, even temporarily, the AIR suspension is the best route. To adjust on the fly from soft and firm.

At a cursory glance, dyna and sportster suspensions appear similar. Do you also recommend heavy duty spring rates for sportster?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 3 ай бұрын
Great question, generally we do not recommend the HD spring on Sportster as often. The shock geometry on the Dyna is far more drastic and creates more leverage to compress the shocks. The Sportster is a good bit more upright and does not suffer the same leverage ratio. On a Sportster, unless you are riding 2-up often like 50% of the time or more or are regularly in the 275-300lbs range then the standard spring would be the way to go on Sportster. ESPECIALLY if you are looking at 12" shocks as those springs have an additional 1" of preload on them from the start since the 12" and 13" springs are the same. We hope this helps and if you need further assistance, please feel free to use our live chat on our website, or email [email protected] or you can always check in with a local motorcycle shop in your area. Thank you.

I’m thinking of doing my suspension on my 21 fat bob. I just want the ability to make it super soft (like riding on a cloud) for highway driving and then have it be super tight for days I want to play more on the gas. Is 5hat a thing with the air suspension systems or am I misunderstanding?

Hey there, What you are wanting is the exact natural biproduct of what Legend Suspensions offers. On the Axeo you have oil and nitrogen in the cartridge system, with a piston in the middle and they handle different aspects of your riding. the more you cruise the more if will give you comfortable casual, as soon as you get more aggressive the piston moves and the force being applied firms up your ride based on the input it is receiving. Think automatic transmission for suspension. The rear suspension works just the same. Coil or AIR ride will both give you this. When you set the suspension sag it is telling the shocks how much you weigh and to use all the travel without bottoming out. Then the rebound controls how fast or slow the shock extends after hitting a bump. This is perceived as soft to firm. But the sag setting is going to allow you to cruise in comfort and then get aggressive and it will instantly react based on the input you give and the velocity of the compression and shaft movement. We hope this answers your questions and please feel free to reach out of you have any other questions. [email protected] or we have a live chat Monday- Thursday Thank you.

Do the front 1st. Eliminate the nose dive that is common on Roadglides. Then match the rear shocks with Revo-A's, & VOILA, - great performance, great suspension, which equals a better riding experience.

09 Fxstbi Love mine… gf absolutely loves them . Only thing I hate is the increased static bike fender gap. Looks good if I’m on it, even better if both of us are on it. Axeo cartridges are awesome as well.

On your 09 FXST we only offer a factory length suspension, and it should not be sitting taller than stock height. Did you possibly have an older worn-out shock that was sagging a lot? or possibly a lowering kit on the bike? It really should not have raised the bike beyond where it should be stock.

Depending on the length you have and where your suspension sag is set, you can alter this a bit. You can run up to 1-1/4" sag on the Mono shock Softails. If you have any questions on that please email [email protected].

What length do you recommend for a new '24 Street Glide?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 3 ай бұрын
You can run 12" or 13" on the new Street Glide, it really comes down to preference. 12" shocks sit at 11-1/2" with 2" of travel 13" shocks sit at 12" with 3" of travel. So, seat height is about 1/2" difference and you gain 1" on the 13", that is why we tend to recommend the 13" for the extra travel.

Great video. Just installed my revo a on the 2022 road glide. Was a little concerned just wasn’t as soft as I wanted it even though I’m 210ish. Tuned them clockwise 4 times and set the rebound to 2 and rides like a 1979 Lincoln Town Car, that’s a good thing to be clear. Thing is like riding on air.

I’ve got +2 cartridges for a dyna and when I back out the preload adjuster all the way, it still makes full contact with the spring. How can I tell I’m at preload 0?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 3 ай бұрын
Hello, the Preload adjuster comes set at 0 preload from the factory. To get it back to zero you will back it all the way off and just tighten the preload adjuster to the for flat spot and that would be zero, you have to end on a flat spot, and you are just looking for the first available flat. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email [email protected] and they can help you though any setup questions.

How do I decide to get the shocks with reservoirs or without?
@LegendSuspensions
@LegendSuspensions 3 ай бұрын
That is a great question. A lot of it will boil down to personal preference. The main things the Revo-ARC will offer over the Revo-A are. 13" Revo-A has 3" of travel where the 13" Revo-ARC will have 3.5" so you get additional travel and, on a bike, where you do not get a lot of travel to begin with, anytime you can add it, it does help. The Revo-A will have a 6-position rebound adjuster. Revo-ARC will have 7. Revo-ARC will also have 7 positions of compression adjustment. Those additional ARC features really allow you a larger range of adjustment and to be a bit pickier when it comes to the settings you like. The Revo or Revo-A will 9 times out of 10 be absolutely all you need and will far outperform your expectations. The Revo-ARC, if you like the looks, like the additional adjustment, or feel you are a bit picky with how you want your bike to ride. We hope this answers your questions, if you need additional help, please feel free to email [email protected] with any questions or check in with your local shop as they might have both in stock for you to look at and give you some other customer feedback.
