Small stream brookies are a spiritual experience. I lived in NW Mt in my mid 20s, did a lot of this kind of fishing. Since then have fished coast to coast, have some memorable experiences but the simplicity of this can't be beat 😁😁👍👍

I've been fishing ANF since I was 10, I'm 45 now. Just started Quehanna/Moshannon area about 10 yrs ago. I've recently introduced my daughters boyfriend into it. I give him a new spot and which species are in it. He goes alone. And when he tells me about it, its like a time machine to myself. Something about these little fish and where they live does something to a few people that they can't shake or explain. Seeing it happen to someone else from the beginning is one of the most satisfying things I've done.

I have been following you guys for a little while now. You produce some of the best content for fly fishing. My sister recently moved to Montana (I totally understand why) and had the blessing of visiting her and her boyfriend. We floated the Bitterroot and it was amazing. That being said, I totally get the draw to get back home and share another experience with your buddies. I just thank you for sharing these journeys with us. As others have said, you deserve a big contract for the level content you produce. I will watch everything you produce; and perhaps someday I will be blessed with the opportunity to share water with you guys.

Until you try to self film yourself fly fishing, I don't think people will understand how challenging it is. Setting up the camera for a run, fish the run, move the camera, rinse, repeat. If the action is on, it makes it worthwhile! Always enjoy your videos!

amazing video. question, ive been trying to film myself more but im having trouble staying motivated especially when i dropped my new sony vz-1 in the river, and then come home to corrupted gopro files. how often do you spend the time to set up a shot at a nice hole but dont catch anything? I see that alot of people take the time to set these shots up but they never show footage of not catching fish. thanks!

I have hours upon hours of footage of me not catching anything. I’ve spent entire days setting up the camera and fishing and caught nothing. Sometimes it gets to me and I don’t even want to do it anymore, then it passes and I do it all over again haha. It’s labor of love for sure

Born and raised in Clearfield County... such amazing trout streams. Fond memories of native brook trout streams with my dad, using some worms we dug up in the yard... watching now from South Carolina, where I've lived for the past 15 years.... I miss that beautiful area up there. I have a 2 hr drive to the mountains of SC/GA for the nearest trout fishing to me. Your videos are expertly done and leave a fond longing in my heart to make it back up to PA someday. Keep up the great work... Love the videos.

What a beautiful film! It just brings me back to my childhood when me and my family would go camping here in Texas. Me and dad would go off to fish and return with some channel cat. I really hope that you all use the Kodak 16mm again; it really caught the beauty of Potter County! And the friendship, I think that's the most beautiful part of the film...thank you gentlemen!

Like the man says... Pennsylvania gold ! Stunning little fish and perfectly in proportion with their habitat. If only we had them in my streams I wander in, I'm over in the UK so no brookies v v sadly! Keep up the good work and the rod bent & and btw take it easy blowing the fly powder around man, its sure not good stuff to get in your lungs. Think asbestosis, a similar deal.

The fishing should start picking up here with the warmer weather on these smaller streams. There are time when I ask myself where all the fish went then others where every rock has a brookie behind it! My favorite type of fishing. Great video!

Absolutely love that area as well. It's always been my go-to for the first brookie trip of the year - endless possibilities! For tight quarters brookie fishing, y'all should really tenkara a shot - you'll never need the reel or the line :) and the rods are SO much more sensitive. Scott at Featherman Creations off 255 going towards the Moshannon is a solid spot, Scott's a good dude as well.

When I was a kid I thought fishing was for the old men who were generally boring or unassuming. As I grew older I realized that fishing is for the stoic, patient, and passionate people on this earth. As I’ve grown older still, I’ve found those traits within myself and in others that truly understand what fishing is about and I couldn’t be more thankful for the friends I’ve made along the way. Listening to your conversations reminds me so much of them; one minute we’re arguing knots and the next we compare mental notes on salt or paprika in exactly what it does to a certain dish cooked different ways. I love what fishing has given me, and the only thing I’d wish differently is that I would’ve started sooner.
