I upgraded my fan and now while I wait for my sata adapter I will make the decision for ssd or hdd. I almost got the 2tb barricuda hdd but with prime day around the corner I'm going to opt for ssd. The reason being is for noise reduction and it will be at a discounted price. I am also waiting for my 37000 ps2 to come in from japan for a shell swap. To your point though I'm sure hdd is fine.

Do loading disc should stay in console all the time, or after console starts and Swiss loads it's better to take it out (maybe better for lens no to rotate loading disc all the time)?

After converting the Famicom that converted to RGB output with "RGB BLASTER" to HDMI with "Mcbazel ODV-GBS-C", I up-scanned it with "Marseilles mClassic" The screen was bright and clear, and blacks were output as pure black. I'm happy with the results

The only advantage I could see purists preferring Composite for the MegaDrive, is actually shown in the Chemical Plant Zone part of Sonic 2 (and any waterfall in Sonic1-3&Knuckles). Same with any MegaDrive game that uses dithering to try to achieve more colours than the hardware is capable of. Just something that uses the flaws of composite to its advantage.

It's not worth it with the little it does; it's better to look for something cheaper. It might work in specific games with certain resolutions, but you'll end up spending more on the cable than on the system you're using. There are better alternatives out there. Don't waste your money on this.

You are better off with a Analogue Pocket.
@NickBaysingar
@NickBaysingar Ай бұрын
The Pocket is definitely a slick little device, but I wish we had more options in the FPGA handheld market instead of the countless Android devices that rely on software emulation. The only real competitor to the Pocket right now is probably the Funnyplaying FPGBC, but as the name suggests it only supports GB and GBC games which is a deal breaker for me personally. That being said, if you're comfortable with having to assemble it and you only care about playing GB and GBC games then the FPGBC just makes more sense because it's basically half the price of the Pocket. I'm personally really hoping Funnyplaying or some other company releases an FPGA handheld that supports GBA on top of GB and GBC. That would be pretty sick.

Best thing about the detachable cable is that theoretically you can make a wireless adapter that plugs into the controller.

Mclassic works best on my modded wii. Tried it with switch and its ok just have a 1080 screen so really just put the work horse on my homebrewed wii and it drastically helps the 480p signal from the adapter in between.

I have a pocket, had it for a while now. I love it to bits, the input lag and like you said the audio lag is non existence. Some games, I notice you have to be pixel perfect in dodging and attacking. I couldn't understand why I was dying a lot on software emulation but then on the pocket, the same game I seem to play better. Now I have a gba and gbc with a screen mod. People don't know this but there's is slight latency due to the screen. It does make a difference on games where you need to be extra responsive

Hi, I'm just after a bit of advice if possible please? You mentioned Garlic OS and there's an option on Amazon that's a "Dual System Linux GarlicOS" for £64.99. Would it be worth a novice like myself getting this version, or better just to stick with one of the more (possibly) straightforward versions with just the standard OS? Many thanks.

I think all RG35XX's now (the standard one, not the plus or the H models) come with dual OS's now, with one of them being GarlicOS.

I actually prefer using proper cartridges as opposed to an SD card- inserting a cartridge gives you that genuine tactile experience that we had as kids playing this system. Playing roms off an SD card takes away from that experience. The whole point of the 2600+ is that it is a faithful recreation of the original. Adding an SD slot makes it less genuine. And I have so much more fun going to retro game stores, toy conventions etc and hunting for new games. Always makes me happy when I happen to find a new game to try.

I've really been getting into the Evercade as of late, and been seeing some videos about it. One thing that was concerning me is people saying their cartridges are corrupting, especially the old ones. Then there's another video about a guy that made his own Evercade cartridge by reflashing an existing cartridge with new games (he made a Phantasy Star collection, which I would LOVE if Blaze could make that!!), which he mentions the main chip inside uses the same type of wiring connections as SD cards. This and the fact that the Evercade itself can update the cartridges with new firmware and stuff... I think it may be an issue with the whole hotswapping feature, like what can happen if you remove an SD card or a flash memory device from a computer when the computer is still accessing it. As such, I think eventhough it may be a little cumbersome, it might be best to turn off the device before removing a cartridge, to assure there is no access going on. Maybe Blaze could add an "Eject Cartridge" option or even a button in order to assure that the cartridge is no longer being accessed before removing.

Had them back in the testing department at rare for a bit in the 90s, we would use them to cache the gameplay on a certain N64 game you all know. I think the idea was it would essentially dump everything the game was doing and record inputs so problems could be found and resolved quickly by essentially having a repeatable real-time live save state of the game they could access , vs the age old a description in text form from the tester, or some crash dump numbers for the coders to go over. They did not last long. Came into work one day and they were just removed. No doubt the devs were experimenting on them as there were loads of innovative stuff going on at rare at that time.

I’m in the US and wasn’t able to find an SD Media Launcher, but I do happen to have its weird cousin, the AR MaxDrive Pro which is basically a memory card with a micro USB port on it. I’ve owned it since I was a kid but never used it. It’s a little more clunky to use but you load software onto it using its included PC utility. I had to set up a Windows XP virtual machine to get the drivers to work but it totally works! Super cool that I get to use this for the first time despite owning it for like 20 years 😅. I’m able to boot Swiss with it and am going to place my order for the sd2sp2 pro.
