Very cool. Wondering if timeline is turned on, does this put an editable event in the timeline. Go now to my mainframe to see.

Thanks for the tips. Can you flatten a complex curved surface, like what you would find on the hull of a boat, in Fusion?
@joelbrown411015 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the tips. Typically when I do this I want the spacing to be edge-edge vs. center-center. The circles edge-edge spacing would also equal circle edge-rectangle edge. How could that be done?

Thanks for another great episode, I've been subscribing to your channel for some time because I really liked the way you convey knowledge and, in general, your videos about 3D modeling really inspired me to learn, and since I'm a beginner in the world of 3D modeling, I have questions for you :) . I would like to choose a good, non-demotivating field of study and I would like to ask you this question ;) What, in your opinion, is the best way to learn 3D modeling? I have 4 types: 1. watching tutorials and doing the same as the author, 2. creating things that are at our fingertips, that we can touch, rotate and measure, e.g. a tea mug, 3. creating models from photos or drawings, 4 . at the end, coming up with your own project and creating it?? Or maybe you have another idea, something from your own experience, I will be grateful for your advice :) I know the basics of the program and I know how to use them, but I would like to reach a higher level, but I can't choose the right direction
@bradtallis89683 күн бұрын
@1MRsnuppy- Actually, all of the above. The more you use the software, the more you learn. I would recommend watching some videos first (Check out Episode01 on my channel for a good reference). Then search online for sample cad drawings and try and recreated them. You can even do just 2d ones in sketches, if you want. Then try and reverse engineer things you might have, like a wall switch, or a lego set, etc.
@cornishman19547 күн бұрын
could this be used for 3d print?
@bradtallis89683 күн бұрын
Yes, if you added a base to it. I would create a rectangle with a bit of thickness, convert it to a mesh, then combine that with the terrain map mesh.

hey Brad, fantastic explanation. But you know what I am missing? Machining action as it was back at the time at Peer 9 ...

Great video. How would you add a base to the map so you can 3D print it?
@bradtallis89683 күн бұрын
You could create a rectangular body with a bit of thickness. Then, convert that to a mesh and position it underneath the terrain mesh. Then in the mesh menu, combine the 2 meshes together. I should probably create a follow-up video showing the process.

Hi Brad, I have a simple question. I’m new in CAM maybe I ask a stupid question. I have a simple and cheap home CNC. When I need multiple parts of the same type, I adjust between 2 jobs the X and Y , reset to zero and start the job again. Normally no problem, but for a home project I need 50 small brackets I hope Fusion will make my life easy. I can’t find a way to create the setting for one part and “pattern” those multiple times. Use the pattern components in the manufacturing tab, will result in a failed post file. Also during simulation I got a lot of errors. On my hobby machine are no settings possible. I know fusion meanwhile for 4 years, so I expect there is a very simple solution Hope you will help me. Thx in advance

I'm curious why using pattern in the manufacturing tab results in a failed post. Please feel free to email me at bradtallis@nexgensolutions and we can set up a zoom meeting to see what is going on.

@@bradtallis8968 hi Brad tx for your response I really appreciate your kindness and accessibility. I’m really sure I make dumb mistakes so I not willing to waste your time. Maybe when you have time show in a Friday session how to do it correct. I learn Fusion 360 from you and Lars on KZfaq. Every time I thought there was an error in Fusion, I was the error🤣🤣 pls consider an episode multiple object in cam. Just enter tool paths for one part and multiple it by the requested number. Maybe and I will not want to over ask you, you can explain how to use g54 g55 etc for multiple locations. I know you aren’t a 100% CAM specialist but you are by far the best teacher. Again I hope you will help me/us. I’m in my golden years and having fun with Fusion. Stepping over to Easel pro is not my intention. I like to design and create everything myself, not just use a automated GUI

Wondering if this would work for flat patterns from multiple files, rather than all those flat patterns coming from the one main design file. I'm guessing it would, maybe I'll test that.
@bradtallis89683 күн бұрын
I tested this and the flat patterns have to all be in the design you create the drawing from.

I was trying to use that Rotate view on a drawing just yesterday, but with a regular model. After rotating it would not let me place a projected view from that. It went through the steps, but when trying to actually place it, weirdness ensued.... I had to drag further, the image was kind of ghosting and when clicking it, nothing actually placed, but the command ended as if it worked. Very weird. I really should report that, but I was pretty busy at the time so couldn't take the time out for that. I just left my view the way it was and got it done, just not ideally. Basically the issue was the part would look better rotated 90 degrees due to its length and the paper format. I could go back and rotate the model in the design space and likely end up with a better drawing, but its done now and out to a vendor for getting it completed. So, another day, haha.
