same here. I stay in Tijuana and one time I arrived two days early and stayed at horseshoe two nights before heading up to Langley, staying at cottonwood lake #3. I felt great hiking with 2 days. after that I do at least one night there before going higher.

Hi! I admit I just throw them in the back of the pick up and let them stick out however I guess you could tie them to a roof rack but that's just me.

Yes they are long and stick out the back of my pickup. You could easily cut smaller lengths and sister them together with some eye bolts.

Well I guess this reply would be considered a bit late. Covid gave me a swift kick in the cajones and put me out for a while. I use a Blackbird hammock. It's OK if you have trees but if you want to be able to go and then just crash wherever then I take my cubin fiber tent.

Please accept my apology for the very late reply. By now I'm sure you have an answer. I don't work my channel I just post the videos and move on. Sorry. For what it's worth I am also 6'0". As you may know, flat lay is never dead flat, buy the comfort level in this hammock is tops. Big foot box and plenty of head room. The trick is getting the angle right. This all happens with experimentation. But I will tell you the bottom line and save you some time. #1 Get the under quilt made for this hammock. #2 make sure the ridgeline is not loose. #3 (and this is the secret) Lay down and position yourself so that the under quilt covers your shoulders not your head. (stops at your neck). Go to sleep. When you wake up, if you have slid toward the foot end, raise the foot end. If you have slid toward the head end, raise the head end. Get that right and you will wake up where you went to sleep. I wear a detachable hood to keep my neck and head warm (if needed) and enjoy the light weight and flexibility of a modular sleep setup. My 5 day pack total weight is between 35 and 38 lbs.

The best stuff on the planet would be wench cord line. Overkill. Smaller dynema would be even better. I just happend to have the rope. Door frame might bew a little low. Tie point for my hang needs to be about 6 feet up. Back door of a van or raised pickup would be great.

Please forgive the late reply. Yep! Spent the night in the parking lot. It helps. Most do it. I'll be 70 in Dec and heat and altitude get me easily. Go easy but go for it!

Accessible from many trails. Our hike from Idyllwild took about 3 hours to get there.
