I'm going stand-alone (haltech or link - not sure yet) but the car is vintage and want to use the factory interior switches from the 70's, use modern gauges with custom printed faces that mimic the originals. Your other videos are great too!

What's a haltech elite 2500 worth over there? That itself is the biggest expense of a budget build. Certainly amazed at the power this is putting down. I have an m90 on my 98 jackaroo (or trooper in your world). The 3.5 loves a bit of boost. So I'm gonna give it more. But the ecu is the biggest let down

They run something like $2000 USD, or $2200 with the flying lead harness. It is indeed the biggest expense of many or my builds, but it's a good product with a good team of people behind it. It largely just works and is quite flexible.

Another option is a J-series Honda V6. As a V6, it’s a shorter engine for better fitment. They are cheap, common, and virtually indestructible. And with up to 300HP in stock form, you will have a quick car even with an unmodded engine.

Trying to engine swap a K24A2 into a 1998 Honda Accord coupe. Any advice you have would be appreciated. To my knowledge they sell no kits for it and it's never been done before.

@blackthumb, awesome vid, one question, how did you overcame the info requirement from autotrans about which gear is selected. Mine legacy(2006 H6) wont start when ist in P or N and when is the ecu is in different mode. Would help a lot Thanks, keep up the good work

I use standalone ECUs, so whatever programming was in the original ECU doesn't matter. Stuff like this is the primary reason why I use standalones, actually.

As a rotary fan girl (and the worst one I guess cause the Renegis sure ain't the most powerful but damn it has lots of funny new techy stuff), this is really hard to hate. I mean, it swells of passion and it shows. I think we should all be cool having all kind of builds on these cute cars. Otherwise, we would end up like Tesla fanboys hating on people LS swapping Model S'... Nah, good vibes on y'all, that's all we all need ❤

Thanks for your kind words! The line between passion and insanity is beginning to blur. I may or may not have two other swaps in the works. First, I just finished up a K swapped RX8. So that's two rotaries I've taken the lives of. Second is that maybe this winter I will be doing the opposite: swapping a rotary into something.
