By any chance if you’ve gotten Covid repeatedly that could something else you’re experiencing there’s a lot of symptoms to long covid not trying to scare you but it’s something many are getting and that causes long term damage. It’s gotten through cumulative infection.

Final straw to make you quit a job, eh? I know all about that. I used to work at a university's catering business, and on this one particular Sunday, my ex boss was upset. I had signed up for a one-person shift, and she doubted I could manage alone. She was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. Sure, I'm a slow learner and have messed up at work before, but the automatic assumption that I was heIpIess, while our newer workers were allowed to work alone, it made me feel like a Ioser. After work, I went to this cafe on campus, where I'd worked before for extra hours during their orientation meals. I asked the manager if he was looking for an extra employee, and he was thrilled to have me again. Had the time to discuss it all with me in that moment, actually. Very convenient for him that I didn't have a busy schedule the following week (shifts are competitive at catering, and add the fact I wasn't allowed to do the one-person services). So yeah, we planned my schedule that quickly. I emailed my ex-boss only five hours or so after the scoIding. Told her this was a two-week notice, that I spoke with the other manager after work, planned my switching over. She never responded. I didn't see her the Wednesday (her day off) or Friday (her most preoccupied day) that week. The next week, I could only work a couple catering shifts, one day when she's off, the other when she left early for an appointment. So two weeks went by without seeing each other, and she never responded to my two-weeks notice. That's just immature, right?

Absolutely loved this video ❤ something I definitely needed right now. I feel like I’m going through such a similar thing and the mindset thing is such an important part. Even now, success is constantly changing for me and I feel like sometimes listening to yourself is the hardest. There’s always competing desires. Also, I would love to see more of these types of videos

I love these long psychology/philosophy rants. I think an overlooked reason that keeps people at their jobs is status. People know people stay at their jobs for money or fulfillment. But I think fulfillment is often confused with status. Even if I had, let's say, a million dollars, I would still work, otherwise I would be an unemployed millionaire. I would be less welcomed in the social circles I want to be a part of, although it would be tough to enter at all if I was unemployed and broke. So the status hierarchy is as follows, Lowest: broke and unemployed, Middle: broke and employed OR unemployed and has money (which is higher depends how much money and what type of employment), Highest: employed and has money. This is why many rich people still work in my opinion, to achieve or maintain higher status.

Paige, may be those stress patterns that You went through when You were working are still deeply connected to You, and may be, to fully recover your health, You will trully have to get rid of them...Your "quitting story" resonnated with me because I even had nightmares from my job, but after quitting, I began stressing out about How to survive without a stable and predictable income...Modern society has trained us to live in constant fear, and that's the root cause of many diseases we are experiencing...

I went through some of this last year. Even got shingles from it. I thought I found a better job… nope but some of those symptoms went away. But the stress is still there and I’m not making enough barely surviving. So again stress. Now I’m planning on moving out of state and becoming a substitute teacher. I really don’t know if I’m doing the right thing anymore. Stress again. 😢any advice would be appreciated ❤

Going to bed tired, waking up tired. Everything at work had to be done, Right Now!... lead needed this or that ASAP. just two of us working for him. I had to do two different jobs plus go back to help my co worker catch up again.... Lead was telling me and my co worker that my co worker had to grow a pair of balls or become a man. Sorry but neither of us was a 6'3 300 pound man with a 6 foot arm span.... Feeling totally drained all weekend.... Being accused by day shift co worker of throwing my work gloves in the men's toilet. Had both pair of gloves by my tools.... Not being happy for myself or others. Had to work on day shit panels from 3pm to 5 pm before starting on night shifts, yet night shift would still get all our work done and beating day shift numbers. At the end it was more more more. Lol two new people were hired about 2 months apart. They trained for 8 hours under the lead and both new people were no shows the next day. Now I feel like I sleep and am actually dreaming again, when I sleep. I have energy to go walking and bicycle. And no one is using me as their therapist

The non negotiable is absolutely no abusive language, gaslighting, intimidations, dominance and controlling behaviors nothing worse than moodiness and aggression from a roommate. No drugs, alcohol and parties, no over night guests, cleanliness is a must, and using your personal time to dump on us not acceptable. Pull your weight and if you give your time to help them In a favor don't like light housework gardening and unpacking moving furniture be courteous and respectful and appreciate them, don't use people.

I have been WFH for last 4 years, since covid. My experience is it feels great at the start. But if the reason for your state _is_ job, then over time it would make much worse especially if you are alone at home. But this can be a good test. Work from home for some time, maybe 6 months. If things dont change, you know why to do. But as she said, test at least few strategies before you take that decision.

I completely understand. I have been at my job for almost 20 years now. For the past 8 years I have been in salaried roles where there is nobody I can hand off tasks to. I get 6 weeks of PTO per year, but am inevitably forced to work 40% of the time on my days “off”. I cannot take a real vacation because I have to take my work phone and laptop with me and be close to wifi at all times. It’s freaking ridiculous and after 8 years I am getting close to my threshold. My mental and physical health is in the garbage, but I feel stuck due to student loan debt and “Bidenomics”.

I'm getting ready to quit my job tomorrow and I can't give a two week notice because my mental health is going down the drain and especially since I have an autoimmune disease wear stress can make it way worse I rather not take a chance. I won't be rehired again I'm pretty sure but I value my mental health more than a lousy job that just makes a bunch of false promises. They are making more rules and they reduced my hours significantly and as well as two of my other co-workers. I know my boss is getting ready to either lay me off or fire me because the signs are obviously there so I'd rather quit before I get fired or laid off and plus I have another job lined up already so I'm all good. We are probably going to be going over the training and when my confirmed date will be. But I feel this sense of peace since I decided to talk to my mom about it and realized that I need to quit. We went to my job to eat and when I went out there and I was outside with her sitting in the porch with her, she said you have this glow that you haven't had in months and you're more happy and at peace since after you told me you were quitting your job and then she shared her experience about being at a job she didn't like and how she felt when she left. I know I've been at my job for 6 years and I wish I could have left and gave them a longer notice but I think that they would have not let me finish my two weeks anyway and for 4 hours a week it's not worth it. I tried solving the problem with my boss only to be met with excuses and even when I wanted to be a shift leader there was always an excuse behind it while people that been there less time than I have got the promotion. It's clear that they just don't think highly of me but it's just keeping me just because and when they do start laying off people I'll probably be the first ones to be laid off. My two co-workers are also having the same problem and they too are looking for other jobs.
