And here we see the more toxic side of Light, the trait he has in common with Wily even if BOTH refuse to admit it. To use flowery language to describe it, both Wily and Light view figures like Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, amd Ceaser as stepping stones, people to move past on the road forward to their tomorrow, left and ignored particularly if they don't comply with their respective visions of the future. Of course Wily is callous in his dismissal, where Light sheds tears of disappointment. Neither are willing to accept who others are and where they are in the world. And that's also the dangerous and negative part of "just be yourself" sometimes "yourself" isn't valuable, its easy to tell people to "just be yourself" when you're valued and can make money, advance society, or are empowered by it. Sometimes you need to learn to change, or accept the consequences of remaining true to who you are. I respect Quickman and the others choice, and i dislike that Light couldn't give them the military option out of his adherence to his value system.
