Why are you doing all of that to solve the problem? I had the same issue! The exact same thing you described. All you have to do is take out your glove compartment, find the three connections (blue, black, and green), be careful and pull out the blue connection, pull the connecter out (you may have to hold down the little clip) and snap it right back in place - don't force it. Once you've put the connecter back in , put the connection back in the slot you pulled it out of. Turn your car on and everything is solved.

Just gave the dealership $280 to diagnose my issue only to tell me the module needs to be replaced and those are all on back order. It's cold asf outside but going to try this tomorrow

Ok, someone has a 2014 said the same thing. Two options: you can see if the dealer can reset it. They have the joy stick device to do that. Or, your radio unit just might have to be replaced. You can order the device but it's gonna hit you somewhere around $1000 and then you have to make sure that you follow the instructions. If you want to make an investment first now and future repairs, spend about $800 for the manual and do it yourself.

But you never said if you fixed the problem. I have this issue as well, I can remove all those part. The radio went off few days after the system kept asking for update. Now, nothing is working. Must I buy a new radio or there is away to reset the radio ?

It fixed the issue for me when I replaced the unit, I had to have the dealer to program it though after I installed it

Take it to a CERTIFIED GMC mechanic and see if they can re-program your computer. That may do it. I can't be for certain because I can't actually see what it's doing. The best of luck.

@@freespirit2520 Thanks bro, this one is all wheel drive, but there are RWD ghibli. It depends on what you bought :D I would say take it out and if u see all the wheels not turning, it means its not and if it all turns it means it is :D you can use this website, it decodes most of the vehicles an tell u info on the car and if they are equied with all wheel drive or not(most of the time, not always): www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/vindecoder.php

if i have no crank but i hear a loud sound once everytime i try to crank. does that mean its sending enough of a signal to the starter?

It sounds like it. if its just a click it most likely is the starter. I would definetely make sure the battery and connections are all good before starting to take out the starter

This happened to my terrain as well. I have a getto fix for it. Press the onstar button. It will turn it back on. I have had this issue for about a month but don't wanna spend the money since this fix works. Have to do it about every other time I turn the car on.

If you have your Vin number call your local dealer and ask for part depatment and ask them what the part number for stereo is for your vin number. There are variety of stereos for that year with different part number. you want to make sure to get the matching part number otherwise it wouldnt work with your car.

it most likely is, they used the same head unit from 2010 on these cars and eequinox up to 2014

its been a long sincce i worked on it to be honest, but i think there were 2 bolt holding it down if im correct. I had hard time taking it out and i dont remember what i did. sorry if i cant be a help on that part

@@mehrabkhoshbakht4805 I know this has been awhile but was your car turning over like trying to crank before you replaced that blue alternator fuse? This was my dad's car and it's been sitting up for a few months. It was running when parked. Thanks for any help you can give.

@@KickDiesel1 hey no it wasn’t starting that’s why I checked for all the fuses and relays. The blue fuse is one of the main fuses for the vehicle. Hope this helps you. Let me know if you have any other question

you could use any wire type that power goes through,copper is great and you could use that. I simply used the same wire that had 8V power and was going to trunk of the car for stereo, Hope I was able to answer your question
