Blessings to you as well dear brother i n CHRIST. GLORY TO HIS MIGHTY NAME. I was just judging a friend , exactly as you talked about and repented before the LORD because THE HOLY SPIRIT convicted me during my prayer, and here you are sent by GOD confirming. GOD speaks in a mysterious way. I confirmed this message was directed towards me among many sheep. GOD BLSS YOU.

I struggle constantly with feeling like I'm not following Jesus exactly right. Like He's going to reject me because my theology has cracks and I've ingested too many bones of false doctrine. It's like war of mind and heart. Every time I come to a place of peace, that doubt creeps back in and I have to go back to square one: understanding what true and pure love is and understanding that the process of theosis is different for everyone.

What drives me away from church service is the consumer entertainment culture too many of them cling to. Don't waste my time with schmaltzy praise music and get on with the service. Music is a matter of taste, and I get a stomach ache when I'm forced to listen to a genre I despise. Not the subject matter, but the presentation. Jangly acoustic guitars and wheezing vocals? Ick. I pass.

That's very different from the Orthodox Church's Divine Liturgy! We don't use instruments during any kind of worship/liturgy, everything is God centered, the Priest nearly always faces the altar, there are many many things to do during the Liturgy, such as prostrations, paying attention at the gospel readings, kissing the icons, etc. Only at the end of the Liturgy does the Priest face the believers and explains the daily gospel. Plus, everybody is welcomed to attend the Divine Liturgy! Nobody will question who you are, and you can peacefully worship God.

Hold on to your hat it’s a wild ride. 😂. I started with the trailer and was lucky to have stumbled upon it live on the first episode. I’ve gone from a lapsed Lutheran to a Chrismated Orthidox Christian. There were times that my heart and spirit said Yes! and my brain said Huh? Follow the Spirit, even when your brain doesn’t get it. Once I started attending Divine Liturgy, Matins and Great Vespers is started to slowly become real and accessible. For me it was something I needed to Do and take part in to get it.

non of these videos ever really mention with what books to start, how to actually enter christianity and they never quite clearly describe what exact changes a person goes through when they feel god for the first time, they never mention any indication wich leads man deeper into christianity.

Plato's rolling head story seemed a pretty good allegory for how useless the head is without the body. My own head, operating alome, DOES get stuck in ruts, and sometimes the only possible answer is stand up and go outside. I wonder, do the Fathers have any thoughts on Schrödinger's views on what life is in "What Is Life?" He describes an ordering force, responsible for keeping entropy at bay. I think he thought that was something, not somebody, but it's an ordering principle.

@@AncientFaithMinistries It tips over from "Grace through Surrender" to "Be good, don't Sin!"... And all the hypocrisy and judgment that comes with it. That is totally Pharisee territory.. and Jesus loved the "sinners", but he chastised the religious leaders. Most churches get that backwards... And that is a HUGE Christian problem.... You could go as far as to say it is an Antichrist-ian problem.

It is amazing the journey some of us take through the different denominations. I was baptized in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian church but also attended a Southern Baptist school when I was a child which influenced me a lot. As a teenager I often visited Southern Baptist churches. I joined the Church of Christ as a young adult. I then returned back to the Baptist faith, then the Presbyterian PCA, and finally became a Lutheran LCMS. I am still there but I have begun visiting an Orthodox church. I keep thinking I have found the truth, then God shows me more!

Dr. forgive me, I’m in a horrible divorce. Should I be trying to save my kids with all the terrible, but true things my wife has done? Should I be trying to do whatever I can to buy her out of the house to raise my kids? Or should I just walk away and worship Christ; willing to lose them to save my soul? A great deal of my situation stems from converting to Orthodox. My situation seems contradictory to commandments since the outcome would be a wealthier position, but I could stably raise my kids in the church (who are not baptized). Many dark forces are at work against me with my wife. (I will spare details to preserve others of these sins) thank you for your lecture this evening. Many blessings. Truly He is Risen!

As Christians we believe in the communion of the Saints and that the Church is a single body composed of BOTH living and departed Faithful. God isn’t the God of the dead but of the living. Those who have died in Christ are still alive to God, and we, being united together as one in Christ, intercede for one another.

@lhu6971 Hebrews 12:1 is one of many Scriptures that refer to the communion of saints. God is not the God of the dead but the living. One would also do well to look at different usages and applications of the word "pray." Pray can mean to simply ask as in "I pray you, please help me." This is not prayer as in supplication to God. Overall, I'd encourage you to take a deeper look at th ancient Orthadox Christian faith.

"The Gates of Hell will not prevail against it." 1:18:38 The Spiritual World overlaps with The Physical World. 1:18:58 Michael from Arkansas asks about Polytheism vs Monotheism 1:20:01 Christians are Monotheists, not Polytheists. 1:20:47 Polytheism vs Monotheism was a later notion. The Bible doesn't teach there is only one god, just that there is only One God we Worship. 1:22:17 A Pagan god is a Fallen Angel (a Demon). 1:22:54 There are many gods, but we are only to worship The God. 1:23:39 Monos and Theos are both Greek Words. Polytheos refers to Pagans but not Monotheos. They expressed it as Monarchia. 1:24:22 The Evolutionary Taxonomy View of Religion. 19th Century German Liberal Protestantism. 1:25:24 Some Universities teach that Christianity evolved from Polytheism to Monotheism. 1:26:52 The Plural form of gods is more common in The Dead Sea Scrolls than in The Old Testament. *What do we mean when we say One True God?* 1:27:29 God is The One True God, He Holds All Authority Power and Dominion. 1:28:29 True God. 1:28:57 Raphael about Guardian Angels. 1:29:37 "How can I deepen my relationship with my Guardian Angel?" 1:30:27 How do you interact more with your angel? 1:31:07 "O'Guardian of My Soul and Body" Guard my soul, guard my family, guard my community. 1:32:56 Help Me Today. One of my greatest disappointments when joining orthodoxy two years ago was the morals were definitely lower amongst the society than I was used to in my former religion. . I knew the religion was true but the standards of marriage and dating were embarrassing. Most people had no idea premarital relations were even wrong. One woman even told me that I was prudish and judgmental to teach chastity to my kids . Another told me she only has relations with her boyfriend on non fast days. I almost left the religion over it. But now I have to put my head down and endure for truth. I wondered how the true religion of orthodoxy could produce people that were so strict with tradition but not these huge morals . Thank you for addressing this issue for me at least. I don’t want to lose my soul over being judgmental about it either. It is the true faith still.

I always try to talk to my priest/spiritual father for instruction on things like this, to make sure I’m getting more correct instruction as it pertains to my own situation. Some people may just go to church because that’s what everyone in their family did, and never go to confession or recieve spiritual counsel from their priest…leaving them with a moral attitude that may be lacking or guided by their own opinions… while others are quite the opposite. It is just much more risky to take advice on what we should personally be doing, from other laypeople (or listen to opinions from them on the moral choices we make).

Baloney, madam. You ignored and failed to quote other early Church fathers who affirmed the very thing you deny. As one example among many is St. Irenaeus of Lyons who was a disciple of Polycarp, who was himself a disiple of the Apostle St. John the Evangelist. In addition, Jesus quotes from Isaiah 22: 15-25 at Matthew 16:18-19. That passage from Isaiah is about the institution of the Prime Minister to the Davidic king. Jesus is making St. Peter his Eliakim with full deputed authority to "bind" and "loose" in His name.

Since my lifetime confession it's been a endless assault by demonic forces . Nobody can understand unless they experience it. Lord have mercy

Good! Maybe time to be a bit more legalistic...?
