It’s definitely a place to visit, we would recommend it. It does get very very busy - there is a large car park but we would recommend getting there early in the morning to avoid the crowds. There can even be queues to cross the stepping stones which are near the start of the walk (video) ! We hope you get to enjoy this place as much as we did. Thanks again for your comment.

Quite different from your usual walks, but a great place to visit. Such a big garden needs a lot of walking to cover everything! I was particularly impressed by all the tulips. I used to love growing them, but when I moved to New Zealand and tried growing them here, they failed to thrive. Something in the climate here seems to disagree with them. Thank you as always!

@thenextadventure8079

Hello, thank you for your comment, we appreciate it. We are old fashioned paper map users so yes we would say it’s easy to follow without GPX. Our starting point was at Topley Pike lay-by on the A6. It’s about 3 miles west out of Buxton. It’s free. We then went through a low stone wall and walked down hill on a grassy path to the river and small foot bridge (just beyond the Monsal Trail) which you see at the start of the video. We walked all the way to Millers Dale, to the former Millers Dale station and returned via the Monsal Trail. Millers Dale might be a useful alternative start point as it has a cafe and toilets. It’s a lovely walk but when the river is high after lots of rain the stepping stones will be harder to do, or even possibly impossible. Keep an eye out for warnings about that. A useful website is peakdistrict.org (select Monsal Trail for details of this particular area). Hope this helps, Selina and Tim

Hi, we were staying in Malham so didn’t have to worry about parking but there is a car park right on the edge of the village at the National Park Visitors Centre - postcode BD23 4DA. It gets really busy in Malham and sometimes a big field is opened up for parking too, just before you reach the village. Our walk which included the scramble up Gordale Scar was about 4 miles and we looped straight back to the village but you could extend it to take in Malham Cove. We included Malham Cove and Malham Tarn in another walk on another video. Well worth visiting all of these places. 👍

The English seaside is a never-ending source of interest, and this part of it is clearly no exception. Knowing how sand dunes like to encroach on anything nearby, I wonder how much effort has to go into keeping those last beach huts you showed from being taken over! Thank you for another excellent video.
@thenextadventure8079

From the groins near the pier, past the huts on the beach, to the harbour the amount of sand never seems to change. The town however has changed alot since I was a lad.lots of the houses are now second homes, bought by wealthy Londoners as weekend retreats. Local people have been priced out,even the beach huts on the prom change hands for around £150000.The independent shops have gone, replaced by chain coffee shops, expensive delis, and designer clothes shops. Thanks for following along Jim 👍

Ascending Norwich Cathedral…now there’s an idea that could go viral, especially if it ended in disaster as it most certainly would 😂 The idea got me thinking, is the Cathedral spire the highest point in Norfolk ? It must be close.The spire is 96m, add 7m for the height above sea level, total 103m. Just shy of Beacon Hill at 105m.

Thanks @yasminshikingmission. This waterfall is alongside a pathway that is very flat walking between Elterwater and Skelwith Bridge. We generally just go for a look at the waterfall as part of a circular walk - we filmed that with some daring (overwater) drone footage of the waterfall in our very first video on the channel. It had proved to be quite a popular video but then it’s a popular walk. Not many people sneak down to look at the water as closely as us, from the other side of the official platform but we can recommend it in less slippery conditions. 😄
