You are working with short sleeve t-shirts 😳Aren't you afraid of getting stung by bees? Doesn't it hurt?

My newbie understanding is that allowing your bees to swarm breaks the brood cycle and cuts of the mites' food supply. Nature's way is usually better. "Commercial" beekeepers are sometimes like other agribusiness - industrial more than agricultural.

And here I thought you solved the problem between birds and bees. I think you might have moved that birds favorite lunch spot. :)

Hey Randy! Thanks for the pro tip at the end. I have notice this before but never connected the dots. I'll keep this idea in my "toolbox".

To add to that tip, a friend of mine recently revealed that he does the same thing but adds a drop of lemongrass oil to the exhaust screen.

Nice video. Be cautious with garbage bags. In general they aren’t considered food safe and often are treated with anti mold chemicals and such.
@628DirtRoosterКүн бұрын
Yes, the scented ones will taint the honey. We only use leaf bags which are not treated with anything if we plan to keep any part of the hive.

I am glad, for you, that you can enjoy privet. It takes my breath away...literally! Privet is really bad for asthmatics, and can kill. It's a pity, because it is a pretty plant.

I get to do my first cutout this week. A colony moved into my friends goat feed/supply box.. (2ft x 4ft x 3ft) black plastic. Would have done it this weekend except it's raining... Wednesday is the day.
