This was a one in a million job that any beekeeper would love to stumble upon. This RV had been sitting in this pole barn for ten years or so and had been home to an active bee colony for eight or nine of those years. The owner was trying to clean up the property and was unable to work around these bees without getting stung or at least bumped. This camper will ultimately be going to a friend of our customer who will likely turn it into a hunting camp.
I gave most of the honey to my customer who hung out with me for most of the job. She probably ended up with two gallons of good, capped honey out of this hive.
The removal of the second colony will be in an upcoming video.
