Astonishing information here: This lecture and the one on the Greater Personality give individuals like me a road map to personal redemption, authenticity and meaning. I have been studying this lecture and the other on the Greater Personality for years now and they are the gifts that keep on giving, over and over and over again. Thank you, San Diego Friends of Jung! Let's keep moving forward!

I just wanted to take a quick break before I start researching for my first blog post about Jungian psychology. I went to KZfaq and saw that Lex Fridman & Andrew Huberman had just released a new episode. I skipped immediately to the part about the Jungian Shadow - and that's how I ended up here. I don't think it's a coincidence. It feels more like synchronicity. I am looking forward to the final result of what the unconscious led me to.

I listen to this over and over and so appreciate whoever uploaded this to youtube. If you have any more live audios of Edward Edinger, please upload them. There used to be the entire series of an explanation of AION by Edinger and it is now no longer available. Fortunately I downloaded those five years ago.

Edinger’s suggestion for “how” to individuate is describing basic Buddhist, Taoist and Yogic philosophy. Basically, become aware of your tendency to get caught up in the passions, learn to disidentify with them, and practice equanimity. What the Jungians lack is the practical means to support this capacity, which are fundamental to the eastern traditions. Without the methods to regulate the nervous system and relax the body and mind, it’s very difficult to cultivate equanimity and rest within oneself (and stop projecting the opposites outwardly). The yin yang is the most elegant symbol of the conunctio. Jung’s bias against westerners taking up the philosophy and practices of the eastern traditions is a major obstacle for fundamentalist Jungians IMO.

I would say that one has to live the process over and over again whenever one meets...a new "facit" of the Other. Whenever the ANIMUS or ANIMA is constellated. In practice, we first try everything we already KNOW...all of the things that have been tried before and have been handed down to us. But these things don't feel exactly right...and slowly one arrives at a point where one DOESN'T KNOW...and what does one DO, then? WHAT doesn't one know? One doesn't know what it MEANS. One must ASK "WHAT does this (particular, very singular, detailed, unique [yet recurring] ) SITUATION mean? The ACT of ASKING results in INSIGHT...that has all of the properties of the ...irritating, painful, upsetting, insoluble, infuriating.....Crucifixion , yet Rise Again...in NEW FORM...Redeemed.

I had to stop listening at the begining. The man , 'Andy' so and so whom the speaker refered to as a doctor with Aids who died from Aids is not true. This is an absolute lie. The truth is, AZT, the experimental drug pushed by Anthony Fauci and demanded by the gay community killed thousands of men in their prime. You can read the facts or go along with the myth, that HIV causes AIDS. Read Deadly Deception Inventing AIDS Virus Mania Goodbye Germ Theory (Ending a Century of Medical Fraud)

I truly want to thank the San Diego Friends of Jung team for sharing this valuable wisdom for all. I listen and re listen to this lecture from Mr Edinger over the course of my own development through the years. Everytime I come back to it there is an extra piece of understanding that I can relate to experientially. Having the chance to get guidance of this caliber available to as far as Sweden is indeed a blessing I cannot put human value to. Thanks!

Double anima is fully accepted in Southern India. Lord Vishnu had two wives, Bhudevi and Sridevi. Ganesha had two wives, Riddhi and Siddhi. Shiva had two wives Ganga and Gowri. Lord Muruga had two wives, Devyani and Valli. This is all done without preaching polygamy, with understanding that ONLY Gods can handle polygamy. I am yet to find a double anima story in west, but love triangles are quite common.

Let me get this straight. Andy killed himself by having irresponsible sex. And then he tried to blame it on being gay? If he was a doctor he was intelligent enough to have personal responsibility. There is no excuse. What a miserable hypocrite. Shame on that person.

I just heard him on Junian, Laura this morning, October 18, 2023. I love C.J .Jung, I bought his "Redbook" Libra Novus with an Introduction by Sonu Shamdasani several months back and been listening to others in this field.I had an Jungian analyst many years back when I lived in NYC in the 80s. I do understand what Sigmund Freud's contribution was also. Although, Sigmund Freud was an atheist and Jung was extremely more interesting with his writings. Yes, there had been a disagreement between them, whether Freud received the letter from Jung or not. The shadow is both dark and light. The journey of awakenings stretches within you. Thank you all again.

The meeting of ego and self is described as between two men, and the examples are all men. Jung decided, on the basis only of his own prejudices, that women’s psychology was the mirror image, in some sense, of that of men, so he postulated the women’s animus versus his own experience which he accorded to all men, of men’s anima. I do not think Jung’s theory on women’s psychology will hold up, outside of beliefs based on old authority and stereotypes. To get the ball rolling, my own encounters with transpersonal entities (two, one a Eudaemon and one mind-behind typically experienced by creative people) are overwhelmingly positive, unconditional compassion over an extended period, coupled together with personal and life insight in which gender was entirely irrelevant. I think that the wounding of the ego by the self and the aggressive nature of the self, as reported here, is not a universal truth. The lack of a correct psychology for women is a huge problem in Jungian psychology.

Im always amazed at how people like nietzsche and jung are idolized by people ,when in reality if these people had a clue as to what these men had both succumbed to they would run away in terror.

How sad it must be for people who have no belief in God. To have zero to work for in the end... Our lives are too short on Earth and to be your only shot at achieving happiness sounds so empty to me. I'm going through the process of being born again after a life of total selfishness and I'm at last content with life on every level. I've had alot of jungian phenomena supernatural feeling things happen to me during this process. I've had visions of the devil, the Virgin Mary (who did lead me to Her Son, sorry protestants) and then a beautiful 20 minute vision of Christ Himself. If anyone reading this is having symptoms of jungs type of psychosis ( that's how I think of his red years) I strongly urge you to explore Christianty and you have to dig very deep until you get God's attention, but once you have it He will lead you to the truth. And these ideas of individuation were all false ( believe me I explored all the options along the way) but all roads led to Jesus for me. And whenever I listen to people who are trying to individuate, even the man speaking in this video - they never have happiness in their voice.
