That Impact is SLOW!!! Use the right tool for the job!!!!
@mgc197011 сағат бұрын
I absolutely DO NOT understand why you use your impact driver for driving EVERY SINGLE type of fastener, including screws??!! You'd be done most of your tasks a lot faster if you just used your plain Milwaukee 18v drill/driver....the Impact takes twice the time to drive a screw.

Did you plant potatoes? Chard, cabbage, Brussels Sprouts all good in cool weather?

Our much larger family cabin in Mammoth mountain is an A Frame built in 1974 . It’s very well insulated and the biggest problems are 1) heavy snowfall like last year @20ft completely keep us in the dark and was still 3 ft leftv in September . 2) Mechanical systems are very tricky and heat is a must in winter. We ended up installing exposed hot water supply and return to individual terminal units which are noisy as hell but forced doesn’t really work. I’m curious how you plan on handling your heating system.

An idea for your high tunnels... when the covers wear out retrofit the frames with opaque corrugated roof panels or corroplast greenhouse sheets, might last longer. Good job you two!!! It looks great!!!

Love seeing what you do and how you do it, although I have not seen all you have to offer. This video about you and your previous history has been most informative and interesting to me, so keep it up. I don't know if I missed it some-were in this video or a previous one, but was wondering how many acres you own on your homestead? Thanks for sharing and wish you well with all you do but be safe,. Brian from Central Ontario, Canada.

Those babies!!! Oh my goodness!!! So cute!!! You might want to hang on to the 2nd little male, he'd be a good companion for the big buck if you need to separate him from the ladies during their heat cycle to plan when you have more babies and not deal with a birth in the dead of winter. He might get lonely all penned up alone. Justin Rhodes did a nice mobile goat pen for his males, it's also good to isolate the mama and baby if need be. Also, goats like to climb and explore, might be a good use of those boulders the gravel company hauled over.

What about chipping the branches ,the wood chips could be put down for trails to get to the water or to use for the sloppy area .

A plastic pee shield was recommended for an outhouse.....as a "must have". It would be placed towards your knees when seated....but maybe one of both front and back would be a good idea. Apparently, the wood absorbs a tremendous amount of urine smell. Not first hand experience...but second hand experience can be just as useful. (Just a plastic covering to protect the wood form being wetted...I'm sure any plastic would do.) Cheers. Also....burn toilette paper rather than drop it in the outhouse.

hoarding mindset takes over when you don't have anything, somehow come across stuff nobody else wants, start accumulating it thinking you may need it or use it, never do, cycle continues. Then it becomes a way of life over time and a mindset.

19" CRT TV- SCORE! The time capsule element of that cabin interests me and of course that person had a life and history which you learned a little about. Life is that way. If there is nobody who appreciates you and your life, it will simply go away. Obviously the person's heir did not care about sifting through the belongings, retaining memories, or perhaps they did which is why everything was thrown about (or they simply were looted for valuables). Interesting how the construction probably degraded in some ways as the person aged. I always get a kick out of the live off grid, live with nothing or off of nothing mindset. Scavenge everything. Sketchiness rules. To each their own, but not my way of living. I appreciate you at least wanting to live a good life by modern standards, just do it away from others.

You are both amazing people who create beautiful content that is truly authentic and creative. One tiny criticism... please turn off the face filter. It just kills the rugged Alaska vibe for me... and you absolutely do not need it. ;)
