The problem here is that the police have to send an officer(s) to investigate complaints from public who are ignorant of the laws. It is an obligation of the public to know the laws but we are not taught them at school or anywhere else because the system relies on this ignorance. The public are obliged to know the law because ignorance of the law is no excuse. The same applies to the police. They have an obligation to know the laws they use and therefore their ignorance is also inexcusable especially because they get paid to prosecute the law. The type of ignorance both these officers (who are supposed to be drone specialists) is deplorable. For them to blame the drone pilot, whom they can easily get a feel for by asking the question whether the drone pilot has a license and therefore would know the drone laws, this is idiocy. To blame hime is inexcusable. Its like the police receiving a phone call from a bicycle rider complaing that someone is driving a car along a road. Simple determine if he is on public land (use the app) If the CAA app says he is free to fly then the story ends once they determine that he has a licence... end of interview, "Have a nice day mate".
