I cannot do this online. I need personal instruction. Cannot wear standard athletic shoes. Think they are stupid and all hurt my feet and knees Now desperate to make my own shoes but forget about video lessons.

Nice work and excellent advice as usual. Here in Australia everybody called this a court shoe, :) I remember surprising my boss in conversation when he was advising me of all the things that I needed to do to learn how to make shoes, and of course... "you need to make a court shoe I know you don't wanna make court shoes but you need to know..." And of course me being a little ***** **** pulled the court shoe I made the day before out of my bag! LOL that shut him up for about two seconds lol fun times .

Since barefoot shoes are already wide in the tote box, i find stitch down shoes make them look even wider. I prefer a construction that folds under to minimize that footprint.

Been wanting to make shoes like this! I want to experiment with different ways to make the toe flex without the entire shoe winding up being just a glorified sock., its difficult buying the vibram material for the sole, though, so expensive. I'd also want the joints to be glued so they are pliable and dont buckle like a stitched joint seems to do.

Awesome! I would love to learn how to make wide toe box shoes. There is a real lack of wide toe box shoes that look professional. They are all tennis shoes and since I stopped wearing traditional shoes my toes have splayed. None of my old shoes fit and I can’t live life with only tennis shoes!

About 5% of the population have abnormally-shaped feet, often from not wearing shoes which take over the musculature. Imagine, ladies, doing two or three ten mile walks in high heels, every week. Your feet become S-T-R-O-N-G, and the foot-pad widens, the instep rises. You can't find shoes to fit H width. Elegance is a curse. You can play once the basic need's met, shoes which don't cause constant blistering and calluses because they don't fit. My natural foot length is 8.5", so why are you offering me 10s and 11s, for width? Clowns shoes.
@SKDEZIGN

That is the mass production of footwear, one size fits all. It does not only apply to barefoot shoes, we always wear bigger sizes ( length)- The Standard fits nobody. Go with the bespoke customized shoe lasts.

Why do you only adjust for toe shape and zero drop? What about foot volume? Or is the elastic meant to handle all that?
@SKDEZIGN
@SKDEZIGN 2 ай бұрын
We did all kinds of calculations in foot measurements in the course and elastics that is constructed correctly takes care of many aspects.
@JelMain
@JelMain 2 ай бұрын
Just to repeat the height question: the muscles giving width also give arch height, is there a case for pulling a reverse mould from the lasts to check? Yes, the elastics offer something, but we need some waterproofing.

To be honest- didn't understand your question. please explain

@@SKDEZIGN It's not just wide feet, true barefoot builds muscles as the foot isn't supported. In my case, it gave me a high instep as well as breadth (H), so my FiveFingers are still a very tight fit.
@SKDEZIGN
@SKDEZIGN 2 ай бұрын
@@JelMainDefently not just width. But the design gives the right manipulation for high instep too. If you just make it wide, how wide? That is why here it is customized specifically for you to spread all 5 toes and on the other hand, the design gives support not just for the wide feet, but to everything that comes later ( just as it happened to you)
@JelMain

@@SKDEZIGN Many thanks, this is starting to move away from the fashion diktat which leaves so many women with deformed feet. Not as bad as Chinese bound feet, but definitely in the same camp. The reason I was cautious is that the same thinking was true of barefoot technology when it first appeared, "you don't need high sizing as well."
