Peptic Enzyme ( you can find it where wine making things are sold). Add 1 / 8 the teaspoon per quart and soak for 12 ish hours or overnight . Shake and rise several times the pith will slough off easily. Preserve as directed.

Still waiting for my black hollyhocks to come out. I sowed hard neck garlic last autumn, do they go soft too? Should I worry about flower spikes? Hmm, now I'm thinking interplanting sunflowers with my squashes might help with pollination of the courges (zucca to you). I know it's late but I have some seedlings ready to go out. USDA 8 here.

I have heard that leaving the membranes on will make the oranges bitter over time in the jars, so I ordered an enzyme to dissolve the membranes. It was like magic and they turned out great!

You didn’t weigh the amount of spruce tips you used. That would be very helpful to add. I would think the ratio of tips to water would depend on how strong a flavour you like. What do you think?

It’s a boy 💙Sunny is a Drake Pekin. He has a quiet quack (girls are booming loud), a Drake feather in the tail, and is already outgrowing all the girls. He’s very nice and loves food. He’s a great leader for the girls and can scope out the best foraging spots around. He’s a very welcomed surprise on the homestead.

you didn't say the actual measure of the lemon juice and your sugar measure was quite liberal. One more thing, how many cups of berries as opposed to weight?
