my batteries were puffed up so badly that I was able to pry the batteries out by hand. otherwise, I wouldn't have considered using a screwdriver on a puffed battery. still, I didn't know they were "glued" in place. helpful all in all.

Hi, They every year in MOT don't like High Beam on my RRS 2012, High Beam are too high third year , third MOT time. There are no screws for adjusting, only pair for Low Beam , - as goo gle says - both Beams are adjusting together.. Anyone had this problem with similar headlamps of this RRS?

And don’t bother pulling the adhesive strip on the new one. Those batteries are going nowhere. They are crammed in there.

I’m glad I watched this vid - it saved me time… However, I also am glad - once I got to the point where this guy fessed up to puncturing part of the battery with a too-small s/d and the stinky and dangerous mess it made - I watched the next vid that came up for me, as the maker was more cautious, professional, and thorough. I would not have gotten through the process successfully just watching THIS vid, as there are important steps omitted (removing screws, tape, connectors and adhesives). On the other hand, I would not have gotten thru the process as quickly without THIS vid. Thanks again! The other vid I watched was Kamil Kuzniak (or Kuzbiak) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qK6cqdqDttKwloE.htmlsi=IyK6ICVTDktS-oKD “2015 MacBook Pro Battery Replacement”

You shouldnt use any metal tools near LiPo batteries unless youre sure what you are doing but i still wouldnt recommend it because if you want to remove the batterie its likely already broken so its even more unstable. Damaging the battery can cause fire and or explosion and is prevented by using plastic tools without sharp edges.

Thanks SO much for this video - it saved me tons of time and really eliminated the possibility of damage to the other parts from uninstalling and reinstalling. I went slow and was able to pull the center batteries without a tool, as you suggested. I had the battery replaced in 30 mins! We’ll done!

Great to know! I just bought a used 2015 retina with a good stock battery so I wouldnt have to do the tear apart task to replace a battery. I wondered if it could be done without tearing the machine apart. I see the nuances and cautions that need to be taken. I've read suggestions of using a putty knife - I have a set of plastic putty knives/spreaders - look for plastic ones they will be a safer tool to use.

Great advice. The trick of starting with the batteries 2nd from the end worked great. I'd like to try the "thread" routine - pull something like fishing line between the battery and case.

Thank you for this, I can’t believe the schematics and how Apple designed these batteries in, it’s totally ridiculous and cumbersome, they could definitely have had a better design in 2015, they do it so you’ll bring it to an Apple tech so they can squeeze more money out of you, because that’s what Apple does , I’m one of those people that likes to tinker and fix things myself ,anyway thank you again for taking the time to post this

Wow, people love to tell you how you're doing it wrong cos it's dangerous or whatever. You did great and lived to share what you learnt with the world. I like your idea of careful prying, thanks for sharing it. Thanks for openly admitting that you made a mistake and nearly started a battery fire. They are much more exciting and shocking to observe than dangerous as long as you do it away from other combustible materials as it doesn't take long for the flammable solvents to burn away. If surrounding things catch fire. Extinguish them with water when the battery has stopped venting. Fire extinguisher would be handy to keep surrounding things from burning but won't extinguish the battery fire most likely. Just have to let it finish venting. This guy didn't hide anything. He told us everything he did and what worked best for him. We are all learning, none of us know everything. Just say no to safety "experts" who get a buzz from any chance to tell someone off. To the safety "experts", get a life. Do something interesting and contribute to the world. Unless it's egregious, telling people off for this stuff only discourages open and honest sharing of information and nobody likes you!

Thanks, this helped me a lot and saved a ton of time! I did what you suggested, stated with the battery right away and removed the 2nd piece first and then the rest. It worked out great and the the battery removal process (after I removed all the screws and the touchpad ribbon) took literally 10 minutes! Though I did use adhesive removal that came with the iFixit kit and some pretty wide (much wider than screwdriver) pryer. Also the fact that my battery was very swollen, strangely, helped because due to that swelling some of the adhesive, I guess, unstuck naturally over time. Thanks, Cheers!

Yes metal may not be ideal, just don't use anything small and sharp. I used a 2" flexible putty knife because it was thin and wide. It was super easy to get under the edge and pry the batteries out easily. My batteries were leaking one of the chemicals already. I could small it when I opened the case. Battery installed with no issues. Did remove trackpad cable from motherboard and trackpad to protect it. Easily removed and replaced. Thin and wide, regardless of what you use, works quick and fairly safely. My plastic tools were too thick especially for the batteries over the trackpad.

Is the salt necessary for curing or can it be left out?
@akira3871
@akira3871 2 жыл бұрын
Salt will greatly extend the shelf life. Besides taste that's it's main purpose. So it's your call but, if not eaten asap then I'd use the salt.
@kellyvcraig
@kellyvcraig 6 ай бұрын
THE salt they are talking about, for curing, is not really salt. Rather, it is sodium nitrate, which is, often, referred to as "pink salt." You CANNOT use it as a salt replacement, since it is toxic in quantities. Pure salt can be used for curing too, though the approach is different. It's a damn site healthier for you than nitrates.
