My god I remember this show! I'm blind and as much as it may sound odd, growing up, I never thought of seeing, i just "watched" the cartoons like everyone else.. SO what if I didn't know what things looked like, it was still fun! Man this brings me back.

Despite not being an actual Japanese anime, Code Lyoko is one of those I remember vividly and made me interested in Japanese culture. Also, Yumi best girl 😔🙏 I really love her kimono outfit in Lyoko, and bc of that I always redesign that one a lot when drawing.

I like the first season more too , but the ending of this one is iconic in my memory but lets move on nice video lol

There's a huge ramp up with excitement towards the end of the show and I really loved it. Thankfully somebody decided to carry on the show and I'll have action format mixed with the CGI computer world. That shows pretty crazy too.

I was full-on a grown-ass adult when I first saw Code Lyoko on Toonami. As you said, these stories are kinda mid and the individual plots cause as many questions as anything … but the character dynamics are very well written, and that's what kept me watching. And the theme was way better than the show had any right to have!

I marathon'ed the shit out of this show back in 2001-2002 during their respective summer breaks.

It's so cool actually looking back on the shows we had in the 90's and 2000's because they were actually so racially diverse, and covered so many different cultures, it's something we just never got all that much of in live action

The predalion actually didn't appear until the SECOND Alien vs Predator movie. Also it may have made appearances in comics before that. So hard to say atm wether it was just an alien spinoff or if they actually read the future.

I like how you mention the "Xana having a vendetta against Yumi" because it's a well known thing that there is a "pick on Yumi" week where she just seems to always be the one who's the victim of the attacks

This show was the shit. I remember watching new episodes in the afternoons on Cartoon Networks Miguzi. This show has one of the most interesting monster of the week formulas I’ve seen and it was always so tense because the stakes felt real. Like these poor kids almost die so many times. Honestly some scary episodes. And they do shake ot up from time to time expanding on the virtual world and lore, objectives change etc. as the seasons go on. I always thought the virtual world was interesting that it was sort of barren cold place contrasted with the real world. And yes X.AN.A. being this formless unknown entity was its own form of scary and disturbing. I and yes it is very frustrating sometimes with the return to the past stuff because sometimes some of the characters have such good character development only for it to be forgotten. However since the lyoko warriors remember they often become kinder to those people in response. And yes Jim is awesome you haven’t seen anything yet.

You should consider watching the pilot too. It’s called garage kids or something weird I think? It’s got some interesting differences.

I still wanted Mikey Simon playable in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl! He deserved to be playable! Since the playable Nickelodeon characters in the sequel have each of their own Final Smashes like in the Smash Bros. games, Mikey Simon's Final Smash is he gonna turned into Kappa Mikey and goes actions. If they really make a second wave, now they gonna invited Mikey Simon as a playable character!

If only Larry should make the Kappa Mikey reboot because this show is part of my childhood and the best Nickelodeon cartoon beside My Life As A Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom and Avatar!

Let's be real, the true win of Shaolin Showdown was Wuya's human form. I wasn't expecting that show to so heavily influence my taste in women when I was young. I still love this show so much, even after all these years.

Great series. *Xana was supposed to be a communication system but is instead: a sentient AI, can digitize / un-digitize solid matter and souls, teleporter, matter creator, time machine, etc. Oops. *Ulrich loses his ability to see the future due to a patch update. We are told this via a single sentence. *The crew can kill Xana at will. But it would also kill Aelita so they don't. *The crew can reverse time at will. But it makes Xana stronger... somehow. So they don't use it often.

The setup of the show is brilliant for setting the stakes of each conflict so efficiently. Just a single exchange of the wager and DONE. You know exactly what each side stands to gain/lose from the encounter. Plus it keeps things fresh because, regardless of the outcome, the status quo shifts in some dramatic fashion on account of how useful these items and abilities are. It's genuinely such a smart way to write to keep on your toes and come up with clever new ways to justify how and why one side or the other wins any particular contest and keep the audience guessing since it's always such a 50/50 split every time.
